I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments here. It's $12 in CA so that's a score. Very well rounded beer although could use a little more body and more bourbon but nothing offensive. I can't for the life of me understand why VR is trading as high as it is now.

Wife and I just split a bottle and all I can say is wow! Both of us thought it was an excellent beer. We love Avery and their barrel aged beers. This was just right with the balance of vanilla and a little barrel. We will definitely be picking up more.

Picked one up at $14.99. The first half of the bomber was good. Light flavors but both vanilla and bourbon present. Then this happened ....

... and it really made it great. Good stuff but hard to go with it when Siren Noire is right by its side for about half the price.

Will this be year round? I missed it, but am hoping to see it again.

It's still around Madison. I grabbed the last two at Woodmans West, but Steves Junction and Jenifer St. both had a ton last time I was in there. Can't imagine it's all gone already.

Very disappointed with this one. Vanilla Extract With A Ton Of Sugar No Barrel Stout.

Wait, were you expecting it to be aged in barrels?

There is barrel presence but it's really subtle.

I wasn't a fan. I dunno, maybe I've had too many barrel aged stouts this winter.

i was pretty happy with this beer considering the cost. a bit thin but was expecting that based on the reviews. i got plenty of barrel though, so surprised to see some of these other reports. i was underwhelmed by the first few sips but this one really opens up as it warms.

I have not tried it yet, but I've got one in the fridge waiting. Either way, $14.99 is not giving it away, so I'm not sure why there seems to be a sentiment of this being a bargain. That's more expensive per ounce than BOMB! And people complain about that being expensive all the time.

Guess it depends on your perspective. I pay more here in MI for a 12 oz BOMB! than I paid for this Avery bomber.

Yeah but that shit is SCARCE. I just talked to my rep and he only got TWO cases for his whole route. Which is a VERY BIG route. I'll have to try to find it elsewhere. :slight_frown:
