And for an out of towner, don't go to Gordon's. You can't buy singles. CBC Newton has everything in singles, as does Marty's & Silver Lake Liquors. But CBC is good about fresh stock, not so much at the other 2. You'll find lots of dusty beers there.

Just saw your dates. Yes hit up Canton after work on your night in Waltham. It's a quick easy drive from Waltham, seriously about 45-50 mins round trip, including waiting in line for bottles (as there really isn't a line), since you're basically on I-95 the whole time. Also you can get Night Shift & Jacks Abbey most of the time at CBC Newton. I would suggest avoiding those.

Now, considering you're in Waltham in a Wednesday here's what you MIGHT want to do. Drive out west to Monson Wednesday night to Tree House. it's about a 2.5 hr round trip from Waltham but it's cans only day & you should be in & out. Definitely aggressive but maybe worth it depending on how you feel about their beer. People here are split on trillium/tree house for best in MA. Both are incredible though. Then you could hit trillium fort point on your way to or from the airport. If it were me, this is what I'd do. Bring an extra suitcase though.

Moody's is on the pricey side. Prosciutto Mozz cost like $12 there last time I went. There's also a great Indian restaurant and a decent tapas place on Moody, Moody is a great little street if you get past the bodegas and general dinginess.

Any updates on Beer Works moody?

Pretty sure you can buy singles at Gordon's. Has been the case at the Main Street store in Waltham. Watertown store seems to be allowing it now, too.

Not everything. I was in there yesterday. They have the bomber types for sell as singles but you cannot break up 6 & 12 packs. It's a good little beer/liquor store if you don't mind buying 6 packs (grabbed nugget nectar yesterday) but as a bottle shop CBC is hands down where you want to go in this area.

Doesn't look like much progress on beer works. At least not on the outside.

The insides of beer works was down to the studs when I drove by recently.

I live in Waltham and frequently hit up Trillium after landing at Logan. You should absolutely, unequivocally go to Trillium's Fort Point location. It is literally right next to Logan Airport. Then you can hop on the Mass Pike (I-90 West), get off at Exit 17 and do everything else people have been saying (Craft Beer Cellar, Marty's, etc.).

I would highly advise against making the trek all the way out to Canton.

Hit bison county. Gordons (both) are great. Even if you can't single, which I thibk you can, the selection is great. Prices are... If you cant afford it, don't buy it. Same as always.

Agreed on most points. Not a fan of the Gaff despite the beer selection. If in Waltham, it's Bison County BBQ for me.

I have a direct flight that lands at Logan at 6:10pm this Friday. I need to wait for luggage and pick up a rental car with Budget that looks like I will need to take a shuttle to? I realize Trillium is a straight shot from the airport, have to pay a toll and find parking. I am thinking making it there by 7:30pm would be cutting in pretty close huh.

I am most likely going to arrange an IP meet up and offer up a couple HF growlers (going Saturday) as a thank you if someone can pre-purchase some Trillium bottles for me.

When/where are you looking to meet up? I may be able to help you out. Never had anything from HF.

I think you probably need to assume that Murphy's law would prevent you from getting to Trillium in time. It really is close to the airport, but at Logan, assume that you may also be standing at luggage for an excessive amount of time pleading for your bag to show up. I wouldn't plan on making it, but if things break your way, try it with the parking lot almost across the street from Trillium.

I think the location of the Trilium I visit will depend on when my plane lands, and I get my luggage and car that Tuesday night. If not, I'll hit up some bottle shops that night and then the Canton one on Wednesday night after my meetings (meetings should be done around 3.30) so I'd try jet down immediately after.

do any of the bottle shops offer Tree House, or is that brewery only?

Bison County have decent tap selection too? I'll likely have a work colleague with me, and an early flight out the next morning means a really early start Thursday morning, so will have to mix pints with food.
