:slight_frown: At this rate, I doubt i'll get to grab a bottle. I tried BADSDB at the Beer Dabbler and thought it was wonderful.

It is only Tuesday, it appears this is the first drop in the cities. There are plenty of stores that will be getting it tomorrow through Friday.

What part of the cities are you in?

I forget how annoying chasing beer is... It's just this and BCBS for me in the last 6 months (been "in the game" since '12) - but I've had this beer earmarked for some hunting for a while now:
    • No one ever knows if they will get any or not.
    • My local shop that I've established a repeat customer relationship with isn't going to get it for some reason.
    • Is it all dropping today? Some later this week? Some next week? No one knows.
    • Twitter goes silent.
    • Store just compared this to the high demand they just saw for Hopslam - this is at a different tier than Hopslam.
    • I was actually advised by a store to call back once an hour for the rest of the week if I really wanted it that bad.
    • Prices will range from $16.99 to $28.99 and we won't *really* care.
    • Some stores think I'm talking about Cold Press Black Ale...
    • Should I drive to South Lyndale for the reported 5pm release? How early to get there for the line? blah blah blah
    • Are the SW burbs going to get it or do I need to drive into the "heart of the city"?
    • I've never even tasted this damn beer yet.
This should generally all be easier, right?

FYI, South Lyndale sold out this morning (2 cases). So I'd skip that 5 pm thing...unless they're doing another drop. In general, yes...seems like it should be easier.

I was there around 12:30, maybe a little later. A guy had just grabbed a bottle and said there was more left, but they pulled it into the back. Another guy who walked in the same time as me asked and the dude came out of the back saying they'd release the rest at 5pm.

nothing like calling a store and having them respond, "the manager told me to tell you that you can come in later in the week to see if we have it. we dont tip people off."

Name the store. It deserves bad press. If they believe that they're going to have people randomly stopping in the store to check.. and then buying a bunch of other stuff if it isn't in... morons...

Must have been right after me at 12:20. There were 14 bottles left (2 bottles and one unopened case) after I got one. They must have sold those two and taken the last case in back for the 5pm release.

Maybe they just don't want to deal with a mob of crazy-ass beer chasers! :grinning:

its Lakeside in Long Lake. not like they get a ton of foot traffic for craft beers. they really have been on the decline. sad to say. used to swing by there often as they were only a few miles away, but their handling/attitude and pricing has got to be a bit much.

Some stores prefer not to give out info over the phone when they expect to get deliveries of high demand beer, risk having that info posted online and then have a crowd of customers waiting for it that have never been to their stores before. Yes, they could hold some beer back and some do. Don't kill me the messenger but this can happen. Damn truck chasers!

Hey all, just wanted to post that Thomas was shut out on this one. We might get a few bottles that we'll save for a cellar sale, but that is TBD.

I think this shows how desperate we are for more local "unique/rare/barrel aged" releases. It seems like most of the locals, Darkness, BA SIL, Rum King, Insight DB Gravity Well, Dangerous Man BA RIS, all flew off the shelves.
I think @Oneeighthcuban brewed 50 GAls of Lunch Stout, and sold out in 5 business days ?
I understand these beers cost more money and take up more space upfront, but it does appear that these breweries make their money back REALLY quick.

Yes, I understand craft is more than just the one off barrel aged beers and the "Next best thing" but there is no doubt the demand is there in a market
