Yeah saw him at the Hollywood Bowl in 2014 and with Elton John at SDSU in 2001. Yeah, not passing up the opportunity. Maybe next year The Bruery events will work out for me.

Its interesting, in a way they just decreased the value of the RS membership. Not by a lot mind you, but still. Not complaining here, just think it is an interesting move. Like others have stated, might of been do to the PS members who would drop in and out.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I'm ok with complaining a little. This is my first year RS and coming off of PS I was looking forward to the exclusive tasting list as one of the things that wasn't offered to me in PS. This definitely lowers the value of RS and as of right now it stings a little.

This is my small complaint. If they'd spelled it out from the beginning, it wouldn't make an impact for people. But the exclusive drafts available to RS (vs. PS) was part of the decision-making process for some that moved up, and now that advantage is non-existent. No, it's probably not the ONLY reason you move up. But it's a factor.

I think RS wont see kegs kicking much faster because I bet 90% of PS already had access by doing a taproom shoulder tap. (Evidenced by the SDReaper post above). Now if PS could fill growlers with RS fills I could see members getting up in arms. This won't have much of a functional impact on RS use id imagine.

I do however have a teeny-tiny complaint of my own, and that the fact that lots of bottles are going down to PS. Id like to see those as higher limit releases to RS first. (Or hell.. at the same time even....) I'm straining at my leash on some of these items. Do I need to buy another PS membership just to be able to buy more?

Hehe, my bad...next time they ask I will decline but make a huge public display of it, just for fun. Hehehe. :stuck_out_tongue:

But naw, always willing to help out. Spread the wealth. Hoarders did it for me previously, I might as well beer it forward and help out those that want it.

Since PS members still can't fill growlers with RS beers... I'm not complaining all that much...

Don't misunderstand me, I think it's totally fine to help others access taster pours of society beers. Even if they aren't in any tier of membership. Its a couple ounces of beer they want to try... it's not like you are letting 10 people cut in front of you in line @ a 200 bottle release or anything. I was just pointing out to others (those who are concerned about kegs kicking faster) that I think the old system of favors and the new system of legitimate access will probably be pretty equal in terms of the volume going out.

I live in Rhode Island and traveling to California is not out of reach but there's other priorities. Someone should be getting my RS pours since I'm not there to drink them.

I'm just curious how they're going to verify they're a PS member... are they going to be sending out cards as well? And since it's not a yearly thing, is it going to be a card every quarter?

    That goes without saying.

And of course a Preservation society member can not look a Hoarder in the eye and cannot speak to a Hoarder unless spoken to first

As a lowly RS member heading to the tasting room tomorrow (Thu) around noon. If any generous HS members may be around it would be great to try a taster of the BT Reserve. I know it's early, but I thought I would throw it out there.

    Just saying.

    Cheers!

While I don't love the idea of PS getting special pours. Is it really a big deal? I feel like over 50% of the RS taplist gets put on the regular list at some point anyways, so who cares if they have access a few weeks earlier?

The real question, what ever happened to Beret being a year round offering? I loved that beer at its price point!

They blew through the inventory way to quick. It's in their new 250bbl oak tank right now. Not sure when it will be released though.

FYI for those asking for HS tasters if you look on the flight ordering sheet it says limit one per person for each of the listed hoarders offerings. I think that might be a new rule because I didn't see that before last weekend. Doesn't hurt to ask though.

Looks like I was indeed wrong, the most recent tasting room email mentions the Brett Lambicus release.
