This may have been answered before, but this thread is nearly 50 pages long. Is either the brewery or pub or both open on Mondays? Website says no, Google says yes. Thanks in advance for your help!

The brew pub/restaurant is open everyday (no growler fills, no bottles sold there), the tasting room is open Tuesday-Sunday (growler fills, pints, bottles sold there) and the brewery is not open.

Having had all the GF bottles I would say go for it. Although not quite the same as the old Alpine bottles, they are getting close. If you've never had the pre GF bottles than yes buy them. They are still good IMO. GF Duet would be my choice. Haven't had the GF Nelson in a while. I need to try another bottle. I drank a 12oz Duet last night and it was good. As stated before Alpine can now brew new IPAs at their brewery. And they are outstanding. HFS, Hop Box, Single Cut, Keene Idea and Fireman Special were all excellent. Will they ever bottle their newer IPAs/beers? I don't know. But I will still make my 2 hour road trip to Alpine 3-4 times a year. And the old Pub was not a pile of "sh!te" as someone stated here. It was a very cool place to visit and enjoy some great BBQ with paper plates and plastic forks/knife. I think that's what made the old Alpine so unique in its own right. The new Pub? 6 times larger with real plates and utensils is awesome too. But I like what they did with the old pub. And the new IPAs......

I 100% preferred the old pub to the new one

I enjoyed the random friendly banter back and forth between the employees around closing time.

If I had to choose, I'd prefer the old one, but the new one is bigger and has a better parking situation. I guess with a bigger space comes bigger crowds, but I think the average wait time has gone down a bit, which is a good thing.

If the old one had indoor plumbing, it was hands down better. But that old outhouse could get ripe in the heat of the summer.

I'd give anything to go back in time and spend one more day at the old pub enjoying a brewer's plate.

I had a legit laugh out loud moment tonight when saw the $22 price tag on a six pack of Duet at Albersons. Mind you this was the non-club price and they don't actually charge anyone that much because they don't require a membership. However, the club price of $16 still seemed a bit high to me.

Considering that Duet and Hoppy Birthday packs sell for 8 bucks at the brewery.

I was bummed to find out they no longer have the bbq chicken burrito on the menu at the new pub. I was a big fan.

Batches must be pretty inconsistent. The six of Hoppy Birthday I picked up was really good for a session IPA but Nelson wasn't as great.

Latest rumors I heard were that Pure Hoppiness was going from a year round beer to being seasonable and that they only had enough hops left for 3 more batches of Nelson. Don't know how true this is but...

I know this has been covered ad-nauseam, but I searched about 20 pages and can't find out exactly who brews what, and where. I have heard many different things out on the net, but you guys in this thread seem to know exactly.

What I gather is: Green Flash bought Alpine which consisted of Alpine name,Duet, PH, and Nelson so those beers and names went with Green Flash and are now being brewed at Mira Mesa?
Alpine took some of that money and opened up a new brew pub where they brew Keen Idea, Bad Boy and other one offs, but Green Flash is not involved in that at all? How do they still use the Alpine name?
What happened to the little old place with "outhouse shitter"? Still there but sells Green Flash brewed beer?
Lastly, beers like Great, and Kiwi Herman if ever produced again are made strictly by Alpine, with GF involvement?

Thanks for any information, or even a link to a thread that explains this.

Green Flash owns Alpine, everything with an Alpine label is owned by Green Flash. Green Flash facilities brew the mainline stuff allowing Alpines facilities to focus on specialty/one off releases (draft only, growler only, brewery only). If you see mainline Alpine beers (Nelson, duet, pH, hoppy bday) they are produced in Green Flash facilities, even when sold in alpine taproot. Alpine has a new pub, old tasting room has been updated. Don't believe they have any additional brewing facilities.

Though all that is true at this moment in time, who knows if additional beers will movr over to GF

To be specific, they moved a pub to a new location a mile west (closer to the usual exit people use from I-8). There is no brewing at that site. They still have their original brewery, and converted the old pub to be the tasting room / growler fill station for Alpine. The tasting room has all the Alpine brewed beer, and the Alpine branded Green Flash brewed beer. When they upgraded the old pub, they also upgraded the outhouse shitters.

I don't think anything will get "moved" to Green Flash for brewing, unless they plan on distributing it everywhere.
