Notable Releases - DC/NOVA/MD

Hopslam distribution in NoVA seems to be pretty thin this year compared to prior years. Arrowine is getting only 2 cases (tomorrow, from what Nat told me) after getting at least 6 or 7 cases last year. Dominion got 3 cases this year, sold out in a couple hours. Total McLean had some yesterday ($22/six), but didnt look like much more than 5 cases (at 11 am yesterday), unless they were holding some back.

Would second the suggestion to look at your local Harris Teeter. Saw some in Alexandria today, $17.99 and nobody was enforcing a limit.

 

Just got here and there's 3 cases of Hopslam left at 14th St. TJ's.

 

Happened to be near Tenleytown, so stopped in at WF. They have Hopslam at $20.99.

I've always sought out a sixer in past years, but I'm sitting at home drinking one now and realizing that for me there's just too many other, better DIPA options now in DC: Enjoy By, Pure Hoppiness, Double Jack, OTWOA, See the Light, Double Duckpin...

 

Or the new triple IPA, Talking Backwards. Insane stuff.

 

OTWOA cans have been showing up in stores in Philly this week. Not sure how fresh they are. Just figured you guys might be interested in that for informational purposes

 

check the bottom of the can, DC Brau dates them.

 

Snagged the last SHIT and some Abyss @ Whole Foods P Street. Quite a few Abyss left.

 

That's cool but also a bit annoying that DC Brau will ship cans to Philly but they can't even distribute to VA on a regular basis.

Buy it so i don't do what I've done the last 3 years: get a sixer, drink one, and let the rest sit in the fridge for 3 months because it's not that great.

When will Sunday Morning Stout hit VA, DC, MD? My friends in NC have been drinking it all damn week...how does a PA beer go direct to NC, while bypassing VA and MD? Damn it, I want my SMS!

 

It's on draft at Lost Dog in Dunn Loring (Merrifield) right now. Haven't seen bottles yet.

 

GGW is at Petite Cellars. Anyone seen any more Madagascar in MD recently outside of what Perfect Pour got?

 

Downtown Crown had a few bottles of Madagascar left as of 3pm today. I'd give them a call before you head out there though.
