Rue d' Floyd was such an amazing beer fresh. At a recent SMM (I think in December? Maybe November) Matt brought around a RdF and a FdR, RdF tasted so, so good still.

Mash & Grind is one of my favorite beers. Guess the money is going to have to go elsewhere and I know what I will be filling my growler with every time I can.

Yeah they lasted quite awhile if stored at fridge temps.

I thought M&G didn't hold up as well over time, the coffee did that weird peppery thing that old M9 or Mocha Wednesday does, so I'm not overly bummed it's being held back. I'm more hoping they can get the flashing settled on it this year, and then do a batch of Mash & Coconut in bottles. That would rule.

Label for Frucht: Passion Fruit is out. A Berlin-Style tart wheat beer with passion fruit at 4.3%.

so is this essentially hottenroth with passion fruit, in the same line as the mangoes or peaches version? or is it a different base beer?

I don't know the 100% truth to this and it is pure speculation. I feel like it has to be a different recipe otherwise it would be called hottenroth W/passion fruit. Also, maybe they tweaked the recipe because there have been so many issues with the bottles of fruited hottenroth.

Base Hot is 3.1%, while HotMan shows 3.2%, HotPea 3.7%. Not sure if those are accurate but I don't see the addition of passion fruit adding 1.2% over the base, so it is likely a new recipe.

Hey All-- It's a new recipe that occupies one of our new foeders. I'm a big fan of the base beer and look forward to the many variants that will come from it. On its own, it has stone fruit & tropical fruit elements, quite a bit of lactic acidity, and a soft mouthfeel. While we love Hottenroth, we thought a bit bigger of a base beer would mesh better with fruit or other fun ingredients.

    Cheers,

Sounds delicious! I wonder how it will compare to Raised Eyebrows... that beer is a wheat base, too, right?

Pretty sure the whole wanting a "bigger base beer" thing is a cover story, and they just brewed it to put a stop to all this Hot Man, Hot Pea, Hot Passion business

My favorite comment in last year's thread was something like "If you get the Hot Pea from a Hot Man, you've got an STD". I still laugh at that.

Raised Eyebrows also has quite a bit of the guava flavor to it that this beer won't have. I imagine this beer will taste a little closer to Lilikoi Kepolo.

Lazy Susan is the wheat base HPB, also very good.

Anyone have any experience shipping/receiving beers across the country with the box they give you with the preservation society packages? Would that box be enough to ship some bruery beers safely? Trying to save some money on shipping supplies.

I wouldn't and it has Bruery markings all over it. Just buy a double corrugated box and some bubble wrap. Why risk the breakage / getting caught to save a few bucks?
