When I was there (Tulsa) in December I went to Modern Spirits downtown and was talking to an employee and they alluded to the fact that things were about to change with some of the laws regarding liquor sales. Have you heard anything about that?

Lots of moving parts but I know there's two senate bills currently in the air which would modernize OK's laws. One allows refrigeration and another allows point of production sales. (SB 383 and SB 424). Last I heard AB In-Bev and Walmart poked their heads up and were trying to drive the conversation.

If you have had the Noble King since JK went to all beers getting the house microbes it is closer to a sour that the Funky PA beers IMO. It is tart with some underlying funk, and dry hop on top. Noble King doesn't get anywhere near the credit it deserves, it is so good now.

Sounds like I need to pick it up next time I see it then. Thanks. I've only had the original version of that too. Not all their beers end up being tart. I don't get any real tartness from the Dichotomous stuff and the most recent Black Metal wasn't tart either. I'll take your word for it on the Noble King though.

I've mostly enjoyed my Bomb!s. However, they are expensive, which is why, I only occasionally splurge and buy one or two bottles.
The last one I had though, was a bit disappointing. Not really bad or anything, but it lacked the depth and the coffee and chile/spicy flavours I remembered. It also tasted like a LOT of vanilla (reminded me more of Bible Belt). I only like vainilla in cases where it's used with restraint. If most new bottles taste similar, I would no longer pay the 8.99 price tag. Would rather just pay for a four pack of Old Rasputin.

Anyone have a similar experience? Perhaps I had an old bottle?

Not just the legislators, the voting public as well.

I have heard that Prairie is wanting to open a brewpub down in the Brady if/when we get some modern laws.

Also, next Saturday, they are doing a brewery only release of their Cherry Trogdor. $10 each for a 12.7 oz, 4% sour aged in oak barrels with montmorency cherries.

You are correct about the voters. Honestly I don't even see us getting the scene they have over in NW Arkansas, too many laws would have to change. If they do pass even the proposed laws, the holy rollers in this state will say Enough! A lot more out of staters will move here ( why I don't know ) like North Carolina. to overcome this ( at least that was my perception as a former resident of that state )

Yeah everyone is always bitchin about prairie costs.. every time I visit California or NY I am jawdropped by the prices.. A single can of lambo by Grimm is $8-12 and their stouts range from $17-25. Evil twin bombers are pricey too. Hell, I just got a sixer of pineapple sculpin and it set me back like $16. Unfortunately, with the demand the way it is, I think it is where the industry is headed... I don't like it either, but it is what it is...

I had some on tap recently and it had nowhere near the depth and complexity of bottles I have had in the past. I was hoping it was just a bad batch.

California I get, high cost of living, here not so much. Yeah evil twin is in the same boat as Prairie, one & done usually no matter how good it is. I am buying a lot more Clowns shoes though...

There is PA just sitting on the shelves here. I love the Funky Gold, but for $9 a bottle, I'm getting a sixer of Art Car for sure.

But they are selling and people are buying, so free market rules as always.

    Vote with your wallet...

I find PA beers to be amazing

I find PA beers to be very expensive

I would buy more PA beers if they were cheaper

Admittedly, I can be a bit careless with my beer budget at times, but I usually buy 1-2 bottles as I see new PA products on the shelves.

If anyone wants to trade for PA, let me know. $4$ would make it $50 for 5 PA! Think about how much you could enjoy for $50.
