    Or both.

I would guess that after the success of this canning they will try to can bigger runs.

It was such a nice experience going there. Everybody that worked there was super cool and the beers I tried were great. I am going to make it a point to be a frequent visitor.

It's a great place to visit. I wish I lived closer. They have a great variety.

    The porter was world class.
I'm regretting not getting a growler of that to bring home

I kind of think of Rushing Duck as a slightly smaller blend of Carton (starting to can) and Kane (variety and bottling Imperial stouts and other big beers). Anyway, I'm from that area so at least I get to stop by when I'm visiting family and friends.

Yeah man, Beanhead rocks. After judging at a beer fest a couple years back I brought a bunch of empty growlers and got 4 filled with Beanhead to take home (also got 2 filled with Sofie, yummm). I was already a fan but drinking those 4 with friends took me to the next level of appreciation. I really love those guys.

Heading up skiing that way this weekend and thinking of stopping by Thursday night for some growler fills.

Any recommendations or tips? I don't think I've had anything from Rushing Duck since ACBF like 4 years ago.

Late to the party but this batch of War Elephant is really, really good. Had it side by side with Other Half Suparillo last night and preferred the War Elephant. Dangerously drinkable at 8.7% ABV.

This what was on tap this past weekend:
On tap: Naysayer, Beanhead, Nimptopsical, Divided By Zero Citra, Divided by Zero Mosaic, Elephant, Mouse Count, Pay to Play, Cured, and Ded Moroz.

If you like IPA you can't go wrong with any of the pales, my faves are War Elephant and Divided By Zero, but Pay To Play rocks too. Beanhead coffee Porter is what put them on the map, so def. that one too.

Oh, hell, every beer on there is great, have tasters of them all!

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the hoppy beers. I just had pay to Play and thought it was incredible.
Whatever you do, don't leave without a growler of Beanhead.

Let me take a break from slamming AB/InBev to ask you a question

Do you think RD would be better served canning Beanhead? War Elephant is fantastic. But doesn't it get lost among all of the other great DIPAs? I know a porter isn't a hot style. Releasing an out of this world porter with little competition would be more likely to put them on the map.

There is a brewery in NJ called Spellbound that started canning their phenomenal porter and I really appreciated that. You can find great IPA's anywhere, but other styles are a little more difficult.

I'd like to some Nimptopsical canned, heck I'd take a 1/6th of it!

Great question. Hard to say. I am a full on Beanhead fan, it is the most under the radar porter on the planet, so I would love it if I could take it home in cans, but not smart enough to judge if it would sell out at brewery, which is their goal with cans so far. Could be their next goal is to start distro with cans of all their core lineup, now that they have more tank space, but they don't discuss that with me.

Right now they are using a small coffee roaster up by White Lake. We don't know how much can be supplied going forward. Hopefully that is all accounted for, but just not in place yet.

While I would not mind Beanhead cans, there have always been plenty of great Porters and Stouts available.

There are great kinds of literally every conceivable beer. A brewery shouldn't make a style because too many breweries make beers in that style already?

Is there anyway to get up here via public transportation

Not easily. I'm willing to bet there are buses from Brooklyn to Kiryas Joel though, it's basically the next town over. You could do that and then catch a cab maybe?

Edit: Yes, lots of buses to and from Kiryas Joel: http://www.transitorange.info/bus-services/
Would be an interesting ride to say the least.

Thanks for the info, I've gone to Peekskill via metro north from the Bronx which was such a short trip but found no route to Chester. Thanks again for the info hopefully I can make a trip to the brewery soon

What's the story with growers? Will they fill any glass growler or just one of theirs?
