Science is Cool LIF - Day 1

If you know what it is... You will know specifically what it is. I know that doesn't sound like it makes sense but I found it after a bit of looking.

 

sounds good, i have a pretty solid idea of what this is specifically showing, but upon first glance it could be an image of virtually anything.

 

This reminds me of the solvated electrons picture. D'oh!

 

Did I miss Friday's because I didn't take a stab at guessing who was in the picture? I thought it was extra, so I only answered about the brine lakes.

Also Cam, I must say, this has been the funnest LIF I have been involved in. Thanks for doing this one!

 

Sweet! Really enjoying this LIF.... I'm gonna be a little sad when it is over.

 

If I end up winning this one, there will definitely be one to follow...

 

Same/similar I'd love to do a math themed lif, but I don't think it would work so well.

 

That would work great. A different problem every day. Just have to make sure they aren't online.

Edit: My only concern would be that you would have a lot of people at 100%.

 

I would be in on the math one if it were to go down. Would give me a reason to brush up as I usually only calculate moles of reagents and limting reagents for reaction that I run. Would be nice to crunch some numbers again.

 

i might be down for a math LIF...although the level of commitment for a LIF like this is pretty intense. i would hope that the math one would be more focused on statistics as opposed to calc 2 stuff. calculus was not a problem for me, but midway through calc 2 in college i realized that maybe math isn't my favorite subject...although i did get half credit on a quiz for drawing a picture of homer when i blanked out on what the simpson rule was.

 

hahaha - I'm a calc teacher who despises statistics . Honestly wolframalpha pretty much kills any chance of doing a lif based on computational mathematics - if you can figure out the markup (or know latex) it becomes way too easy.

 

most people despise statistics, but i'm a wiz with them. i use stats daily to keep big business running efficiently and proving results of continual improvement programs...and mostly to know when processes start slipping and falling out of control. i'm a big fan of numbers.

 

I had never heard of yesterday's answer until I started looking for it. Pretty sweet! And definitely a badass way of eating their food. Now today's on the otherhand... Did you pass out on the keyboard last night and hit Enter?

 

Just when I was about to submit that today's image was the effects of alcohol on cam while trying to type, I come to see this post. D'oh.
