I was #20 (+/- 2). Didn't get out of there till 2:20. I won't be going back till I hear that it is better.

Got there at 4:30, think there were a little more than 10 people in line, out at 5:10. Having a glass of Sparkle Boots now and it's absolutely killer.

Also just read on Steady Habit's FB that they're hoping to start canning everything (no fills) soon.

Just cracked a growler of big bad bunny from late december, drinking great. I am a little suprised on Jon's decision to start canning and elimanate growler fills temporarily. Could be a smart move, but it doesn't make sense to me based on where they are at with their growth. @CTBeerPope can you fill us in on why you think this is the right move? honestly, I would probably stop in more frequently if I could pop in and grab a 4 pack or two, based on that, having cans would probably increase business, but can steady habit produce enough beer to warrant the additional cost of canning? would you be using a mobile canning company to package your beer?

Im guessing it will cut the overhead and complications involved that people are complaining about. Start filling taps again once youre growing to the point of a nice taproom perhaps?

Whatever they do, I still love their stuff and will buying it.

@pjs234 that's the first time we have had a line like that in a while. I usually cruise through fills really fast up to this weekend going back a while now. Of course once there was line my regulator started acting up. I fill 4 bottles by myself at a time on a regular weekend.

@Evmo31 there's a couple of reasons, we will lose less beer when we can. More beer for everyone.
We are going to be hiring another professional brewer/cellarman/canner/ that has extensive experience in the industry and he is super excited to be on board and we mutually agree that canning most of our beer right now will help us overall. We will still do fills occasionally depending on what beer it is etc. Cans are awesome, especially 16oz ones. They travel better. They are easier to sell at a fast pace. There's just so many reasons. We will be increasing capacity as well so we are looking at having a max capacity of 240 bbl to 1500 bbl. Not saying we will brew at 1500bl capacity right away but the dude about to come on board can handle well beyond 1500bbl a year. Will we always please everyone, probably not, but we will be able to get people on their way much faster.

Pahn, you are the most reasonable person I know. What you said is exactly correct. Cans for now, back to fills once we have tap room complete as well as pints hopefully.

Man I remember Opening day! I can't say I've witnessed that kind of line any other time I've been up there (and I've prob stopped in over 10 times and more than half of those I stayed the day). I need to stop up soon to see your smiley face!

Just stopped at SHBC and grabbed a few growlers. This Geek Nip is on point! Delicious! I'm looking forward to trying the new Pale as well. Cheers

I have had several chocolate coconut stouts and the stuff you guys make kills them all. World class. If you ever bottle those, make sure you're ready for craziness.

I definitely think cans would be great for you guys. I'm sure it's tough to get those fills done in timely fashion with minimal help.

Sad I missed Sparkle Boots. You and Kent Falls are two of the best up and coming in CT

I don't think so. I believe it kicked on the day of its release.

Yeah, it didn't even make it to Saturday so none for me either. :slight_frown:

The Anniversary beer sounds similar enough if passion fruit piqued your interest. I'm hoping to make it there today around 11, but I hate how close I have to cut it to get to work on time. That Geek Nip though...
