Hibrewnation - Anyone going this weekend?

I've been to the one in Harrisburg twice now. I don't think there is much needed in terms of strategy. I was able to hit all the stands in both years because it is generally not crowded. But if you see something you definitely want to try, obviously go there first; your ability it taste will diminish drastically towards the end of it.

Speaking of tastes, I don't know if York will have this vendor, but at Harrisburg there was a food truck that sold mac & cheese/pulled pork bowls. Make sure you get one.

For the secret stash, I don't if anything is done different for the VIPs. But for the generals, you're right, it was just a matter of lining up a taking whatever the guy blindly pulls out of the cooler. It's a very cool stand.

A cool fact about this event that I learned from one of the brewers is that Hibrewnation actually buys the kegs from the brewery. So, they are more likely to bring better/higher ABV beers.

 

I think the food truck is Baron Von Schwein.

 

I think VIPs have access to VIP beers and extra time tasting. I don't think the secret stash stuff is exclusive to VIP members though. You just have to be around the right place at the right time.

 

Definitely. The guy in charge goes above and beyond to get a variety from as many breweries as possible. One of the better festivals to attend in the area IMO.

 

Some very nice dark beers there.
