How do you guys feel about the potential lottery system for allocations in April and future releases? I thought my chances were slim getting a bpt ticket when I'm out there visiting, this seems even less. I'm still gonna go for pours

I don't really like the idea of a lottery. I think the next step should be to reduce the ticket limit from 2 to 1 on BPT. I know it's convenient to be able to grab a second ticket for a significant other or a friend at the same time as your ticket, but those people can get online at 10:00 am and try for a ticket too just like everyone else.

I agree with this. I am not a fan of the lottery system at all, and I hope Troy takes other measures for future releases instead of enacting a lottery. I think a reduction in the total BPT allotment is a great first step. I also agree with the suggestion that EF members not be allowed to double-up with a ticket. It would require a bit more work on their part, at least for the first release (someone would have to check ticket names against EF names), but ultimately that seems more fair to me, and frees up a small number of additional tickets.

It's hard to gauge the demand mismatch, because a few people complaining on facebook can make a lot of noise. It's possible that having an additional 20-30 tickets available due to the above suggestions would have eliminated much of the immediate complaining.

I absolutely agree. Well-put. I believe reducing the BPT limit from 2 to 1 would probably free-up quite a few more tickets than 20-30 too.

True, so how many total tickets is it usually 150-200?

Yeah, I'd say that's accurate. Probably not many more than 200 at most. And I doubt less than 150.

I missed tix when I tried to buy them at 10:02. No biggie. Beer will still be flowing at the brewery. Plenty there to be drank. Can't believe people are whining about getting shutout.

I think around 160 is the average.

January was ~120 from what Troy said at the release. The grapes weren't really doing it for people I guess which is why he released Leaner that way.

I stand corrected! I believe the first two were 170 and 190 or something like that. Then Troy discovered he could hide the total/remaining number of tickets on BPT and he exercised that option. Probably for the best anyways.

I'd have to imagine he'll do what he can to make more tickets available going forward. Aka lower limits per beer, and anything that's really low count will probably just go to EF.

    But that's all speculation!

To clarify that, from the way I understood it, the limit was higher than 120, but people weren't really jumping on them and only around 120 were sold, thus, Leaner was able to be a 2pp limit. I am sure some changes are a brewing, like you said. We will see!

Everyone who keeps saying that he could lower the bottle count isn't really plausible at least this time. I'm guessing a lot of the beers are going to be a 1pp bottle limit. Not sure how you're lowering that.

Agreed. The only solution at that point would be to offer two ticket options with beer combos - one with beers A,B,C and one with beers X,Y,Z. More people get beer, but not ALL the beer.

I'm fine with keeping it as-is or only allowing one ticket per person. Because supply is low and demand is high, there's no way to make everyone happy. If there are 5000 tickets, whoever #5001 is will still feel left out. So goes life.
I don't think randomizing things will change that. It just changes who the disappointed people are, but doesn't solve the issue. These are limited. Not everyone is going to get one. No matter how deserving you might be or how hard you work, some dumbass is probably going to get one and you won't. At least at some point. I'm 100% okay with that.
