Mine is not a fan of beer or alcohol in general. Not complaining, i can barely afford beer just for myself.

My wife is strictly an ipa and red wine drinker. She will visit any brewery with me with no complaints. I keep my purchasing pretty moderate as well.

My wife is a wine drinker and thinks my beers all taste the same and to her they're not good hahaha but has no problem with my beer events with the guys and running all over town for the beer that was just released or the countless beer trades that come and go from our house.

Glad to see so many posts on here displaying positive relationships. My wife enjoys beer, now mostly session IPAs (good for the figure:rolling_eyes:). BUT... in my opinion, people in happy, healthy relationships either join in or at least tolerate their partner's interests (as long as their interest isn't in being a raging alcoholic) no matter if it's craft beer or crafting. I'm mostly a stay home at night, help around the house, coach the kids' sports teams guy, and I have no guilt otherwise running to local breweries and spending some bucks on beer and drinking it.

Wow you guys are lucky. My wife barely tolerates my craft beer obsession. I usually wait until she's asleep to break out my big beers, so that way she can't see what/how much I'm drinking. It's a miracle in itself that she's allowed my "cellar" to develop under the sink, taking up half the space there.

Love her to pieces, but beer ain't her thing.

I'm going to go a little off track here. 1) I'm not married but I do have my 6 year anniversary coming up with my boyfriend in about a week and I'm pretty sure he's going to propose as soon as he gets promoted so...:sunglasses: 2) I'm a girl, so this is the opposite sex's take.

My boyfriend is a more of a liquor guy. If we go out, I'll get a beer if their selection is decent, and he'll get a dirty martini or rum and coke (or sometimes a girly fruity drink). If he's around, I'll give him a sip of whatever beer I'm drinking to help expose him to new stuff and he does sometimes like it, he's been into primarily lagers and pilsners so far. I did recently get him liking (and ordering at bars!) Citradelic, which is probably the only IPA he'll ever like. He doesn't really care about how much I buy unless it starts crowding up the floor in our tiny apartment, or unless I'm filling up the recycling bin too fast (it's his "job" to take it out).

I'm lucky in that my wife will drink most things that I'm not a huge fan of, like sours and winter/spiced beers. I like to try them but she prefers them.

I'm incredibly lucky. My fiance and I have actually enhanced each other's love for craft beer. I got her into IPAs first and she found her way to sours before I did. She came to FOBAB (Festival of wood and Barrel-Aged Beer) with me and was on the floor by the end of it. We took a day trip from Las Vegas to Los Angeles just to go to Beachwood, Noble Ale, Tustin, and bring home bottles. We're going to Vegas (her family lives there) over Thanksgiving for the week and she wants us to head to San Diego for 3 days to take a break from her family and hit up breweries.

In 3 weeks we're heading down to Tampa for Hunahpu's Day together, and then we'll head to Dark Lord Day in April. Our big trip for this year is going to be a beercation/road trip from Chicago to Boston, Vermont, and Maine for 12 days in July. We'll probably bring back well over $1,000 worth of beer and she'll be drinking it with me and our friends for the next few months.

    I can't overstate how lucky I am.

My wife drinks very rarely. She'll occasionally have a glass of wine or maybe one of my TH Eurekas. However, she is fine with my beer love. She watches the kids so I can run to Tree House or Trillium once a month and even got me a case of BCBS for Christmas.

Luckily for my belly, my wife is there to split a lot beers with me. She started while I was deployed when she decided she liked a Widmer Citra Summer Ale. She is down for spending money on beer and chases them down for me while away from home. It works pretty good.

My wife is pretty tolerant and does like a lot of the stuff I drink. She has even come with me on a few trips for beer releases and actually had a good time. I am glad she enjoys my hobby as well, but it also means she drinks my beer from time to time.

Initially it was her simply tolerating it, but she's come around. We actually went to a brewpub for Valentine's Day (her idea). It's nice having a hobby to share.

My wife could care less about craft beer. She never complains or asks how much I spend on beer. She will try what I'm drinking every so often. Sometimes she will go beer shopping with me for the sole purpose of buying some beer that she will send to our sons that live 14hrs from home.

Good on you...I know how difficult it can be to implement dietary/lifestyle changes into a household. We have several friends that have children with severe food allergies and it can be very difficult day to day.

BUUUUT - I think you need a night of debauchery. We know a couple that has a son who is allergic to nuts, eggs, soy, and a few other things. Recently, they had an out of town long weekend together - no kids. They told us that on their first night away, when they had some time and the hotel room to themselves they...bought a jar of JIFF and a bag of Reese's PB cups and went hog wild. In fact, they both concurred that it was as enjoyable, if not more enjoyable than what they should have been doing on vacation...in a hotel room...with no kids around!

You deserve a "hookers and blow" night with pizza, maple glazed doughnuts, a baguette, and the glutenest brew you can find...

Lol. Yeah my wife and I stray from the gluten free diet here and there. Not often but it happens. That stuff still tastes good. Especially the beer.

My wife will drink beer in the summer but mostly Shandies. She basically doesn't like anything that I like. However, she has the amazing ability to take a sip of what I'm drinking and guess the ABV. To my chagrin, she's remarkably accurate.
