I will only ship their 12 bottle boxes across the country full of 750's. I add a plastic bag, and peanuts inside to further isolate the bottles.

I will use the smaller boxes (3, 6, 9) to ship smaller bottles (510s, 22's), because then I can put an extra wrap of bubble or foam around them. I also use a plastic bag on these applications.

Can confirm, he loves using the plastic bags. You also get a cool sticker on the box too.

I've shipped using the Preservation boxes but only when I've double boxed it. I'll use two of them inside of a larger box to send 6 bottles out to people.

I've had a few PS boxes shipped to me and in all instances the bottles came through absolutely fine. Given the packaging, however, I'm guessing I probably got at least somewhat lucky on that front.

Thanks for all the responses and advice guys! I can see how shipping the box uncovered can cause some issues with shippers. Ill probably double box and use some liners.

I've shipped it once without double boxing and they made it fine, I wouldnt risk that again though.

For what it's worth-the box inverts perfectly to hide the markings. If memory serves, you'll only need to remove the handle to get it to work. At least with the boxes they used in 2013, not sure if they've changed since.

One thing to keep in mind... Just because it arrived inside of California via GSO, doesn't mean it will survive the rigors of cross country with UPS or FedEx.

GSO is very specialized in their wine delivery and thus are a bit more careful with the boxes than a regular carrier might be.

Agreed. When I lived in norCal and was in PS, the handle box they shipped the quarterly beers in always seemed pretty flimsy to me compared to the bottle shippers they used when I was in RS and shipping in-state.

Yeah was thinking the same thing. I moved up to reserve from preservation for 2016 and I decided to save a couple boxes from my quarterly packages just in case. Thought I'd put them to good use instead of just leaving them lying around.

I need to do some age/tick math in the future. I've come to the conclusion that three more bottles of Imperial Or Xata was not a wise plan. It's a great beer but it doesn't have a lot of ageing potential.

Or Xata is not a beer you buy unless you know you're going to consume it really really soon. it doesn't age well at all.

nor do ~90% of beers. this weird obsession with cellaring is ruining a lot of beer.

(not necessarily 90% of bruery beers, but 90% of beers in general)

90% is quite high, but yes, I agree with you. The issue stems from people just being uneducated on that front.

I put together a box (it may be 2 boxen now) of beers for when I graduate in ~2 years, but I put a crapton of thought into what I wanted to drink when I graduated.
