I'm sure we'll see an official announcement soon, but Mims is picking them up in central NC.

I contacted the brewery last month asking about the possibility of SC distro....got a very nice, very generic, very non-commital response

BTW, I had a WW Porter in a restaurant in Blowing Rock last weekend, might have been the best Porter I ever had

Skyland in Asheville and Charlotte picked them up for our area. I was told they take over March 1.

They were one of the breweries campaigning for self-distribution past the 25,000-barrel mark. I guess that's no longer a concern for them?

They're growing up fast! I bet they also weren't thinking about Atlanta or Boston at that time.

that sucks..seems like the good guys just lost some leverage with one of the fastest growing players jumping in with a distributor...they seem like saavy guys, maybe they got some language in the agreements that let them out if the laws change or give them more control of their product.

I remember seeing the brewery's delivery guy in the Beer Study in CH on a late Tuesday afternoon when they first started delivering to the Triangle. Told him I can only imagine what kind of day you have had. Response... I was on the road 4 AM-ish and he still had a number of deliveries he had to make before he would be heading back to Asheville. Not the least bit surprised they picked up a distributor as the wear and tear on their employees / drivers and vehicles must have been brutal.

I was surprised how hard it was to find Wicked Weed stuff even in The Asheville Area...staying in Brevard about 20 miles away and it was not anywhere that I found and The Ingles there had an incredible craft selection I thought

Now that sight would have brought me to tears. Just another example of why they probably thought it just wasn't worth the headache. Also, not sure if you guys noticed that WW is going to be distributing up in Massachusetts. They sure seem to be branching out.

I typically pass their trucks on I-40 weekly around 7:30AM between Hickory and Morganton. I always say, "Man, they got on the road early..." It was inevitable they'd sign on with a distributor. Hopefully prices don't go higher than they already are.

As long as we can keep getting week-old Pernicious in the Triangle then I'm happy, don't really care who brings it. Freshness is my only concern, hope this doesn't hurt that. Can't justify spending the money on anything else they make currently though.

I don't think I've seen WW in any grocery stores, only beer stores. Might change after distribution of course, but to date that hasn't been there thing to the best of my knowledge. I could see Pernicious/Tyrant/something similar in grocery stores, but I'm not sure how something like the Canvas series would do.

You can find Pernicious and Freak at Whole Foods in the Triangle. Cool sight.

I've seen the regular WW beers at Food Matters in Hickory, FWIW. But that's the only 'grocery story' I've seen WW beers in.

Anyone know if the Smores stout was still on (downstairs or up) at the brewpub last night. Trying to get my dad to get me a growler fill.
