I gotta say Centennial. But BIG love for Amarillo, Cascade, Chinook, and Simcoe.

Citra, but it doesn't work alone.

Never had it as a single-hop variety, but love it in the beers I've had it in:

Am I the only one who doesn't pay attention to what kind of hops my beer has?

Really huge on Mosaic lately. But how do you not love Citra or Cascade? Definitely not about that Galaxy life. Centennial is also one of my least favorites.

Maybe I'm crazy here, but I'm surprised to see Mosaic getting so many votes. I know it's popular but I thought the big citrus hops would blow everything else away considering the popularity of Julius and all the other citrus/tropical fruit forward brews out there. Glad to see a little more variety in preferences! You rock BA's!

I wonder if the great hop varieties (and regions) of the old world will soon be forgotten as American tastes come to dominate beer drinking...Perhaps Kentish hops (for example) will disappear altogether...

Calypso. It is quite extraordinary what it can do to enhance an APA.

Cascade has long been one of my favorites but the last year or so I cant get enough Citra. I just brewed a SMaSH with Maris Otter and Cascades grown in my back yard. Really looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I grow my own Nugget and Cascade, and have yet to brew a bad beer with the combo of the two.

Amarillo. Citra, Nelson Sauvin, and Sorachi Ace are right there too. That damn Simcoe can go to hell.

Nice, this will be my third year growing them. I did the SMaSH to get a good idea of how my hops taste. Used all my 2014 and some 2015. I have enough 15 left to brew another 10 gallon batch if it turns out good.

    Mosaic
    Citra
    Simcoe
    Centennial
    In that order. Cheers!

If you ever get a chance to try a single-hop Centennial beer, go for it! It might just surprise you.

Okay, if the poll specifically was for favorite hops for American hoppy ales... That's not how the poll is worded. Even in America, we actually still use English hops in our porters and stouts. And there are plenty of lagers out there using nobles and American descendants of them.

What? No sock, bunny or short?

I love hoppy beers but am not aware enough of what is used in the beers I love to be able to find a common thread.

Yeah and those beers are not to showcase the flavors of the hops. Most only use them in the beginning of the boil, so you cannot taste them, just bitterness. So why add hops into a "favorite hop" poll when most people hardly know anything about their flavor characteristics.
