i am still waiting on my red wine imp stout bottles to develop in bottle

 

I have a BF Crime of Passion I'm still waiting on as well, maybe we could open them up together?

 

Always so much reading to do in the OH thread. You guys chat a lot. It looks like next Saturday the 27th would be a can release day, correct? @Kanger have you any idea what is being released (and apologies if you've said it already, only read back one page)?

 

Yea it's a page or two back, but the release is Citra IPA and Make it Rain, a Barrier/OH collab IPA (combo of Hop Showers and Money).

Thanks. Does the collab or the Citra portend a shit show? I'm happy to come later and miss cans to avoid chaos.

 

I think opinions are a bit divided on how crazy it will be. Regardless, if you show up later in the day you will avoid the chaos.

 

I'm guessing yes, the collab will cause a shitshow. Not sure the level of it yet, but people will be lining up early.

 

I've never had it on tap so I can't compare it to that, but I have had short dark and handsome a few times and I really enjoyed that one. I have one more bottle left so I'm hoping that one will be better, if not I doubt I'd buy another bottle offering from them going forward.

 

I love when breweries, regardless of how popular they are, continue to learn and improve. I am sure they learned some stuff from Jean, JC, and everyone else they collaborate with.

 

Questions about their Single Hop beers:

Is it always the same malt base for each beer?

Are they just dry-hopping with each hop or are the beers 100% single-hopped?

Slightly unrelated: How bad do you think the lines will be next Saturday for the Citra and Make it Rain release?

 

I thought it would be. No one I know has had yet but a few checking on Untappd say it has a sturdy malt bill... So not sure what to expect.

 

on steal this beer with @augiecarton he asked the same questions- i forget if it was matt or sam that talked about it though. they change up the base slightly and use other hops for bittering.

 

I'm not sure the answer re: single hops, but scroll up literally 3 posts on this page and you'll see a discussion about the lines.

 

Thanks - I must have been reading page 8 or 9 when I posted and didn't see the posts about this upcoming release. I've had good luck getting there around 11 lately and would be happy with just the Citra if the colab sells out quickly.

 

You might be ok if you show up at 11 - I think everyone that showed up before noon at the 2nd Anniversary release got some.

 

#newmoney OH aficionados may be able to be convinced this is a whale now! I have one too! Maybe trade it for a DB Huna.

 

Just had stacks on stacks @ Clinton Hall...damn good DIPA!

 

Drinking a Make It Rain at The Well. Unfiltered hop bomb. In the same league as 2nd Anni and Stacks but not as aggressive. Really solid. Will be buying many many cans next weekend for sure.
