Yea this. The Grimm thread for NYC is a perfect example of this. A few people will post locations when Grimm beer hits a store, and it will be gone in ~30 min - tons of people are clearly snatching it up that never post in the thread. On the other hand, if a store isn't posted stuff will last for a few days. The impact of posting in that thread is insane.

About Aslin though, it was a joke. If the brewery really as good as people on here and elsewhere say, it's not gonna stay a secret. Best hope is that they rapidly expand and start canning so everyone can enjoy.

Another Duke fan checking in, what a game!

Aslin is definitely worth the trip. I'm so scared of how its going to be when people start catching wind of this place. It's legit

No definitely not, I thought that was obvious based on my post. It sounds great, and I need to check it out next time I come home - grew up in Arlington, live in NYC now. Was just poking a bit of fun at the idea of keeping something a secret by posting on a forum - you can ignore me now!

Lol lovin' this thread right now.

This year's SMS is better than last year's IMO. Getting more Coffee from it. Bourbon heat is pretty strong since its fresh, but I like that in BB stouts. Overtime this beer will be amazing.

    Aslin doesn't exist....

haha I hated last year's because it was all coffee to me, I can't even imagine getting more coffee, and then thinking that was an improvement. Happy to be sitting this one out.

...And I think this year has less coffee, so it's a little more balanced and better than last year. Same booziness that improves after six months. To each their own.

Apparently, Simcoe is actually a small town in Ontario. I went out today for a pour and a growler, and it was good, but after the pour I decided I didn't want a growler (I know, it turns out they weren't doing growlers anyway). I think we need to pump the brakes just a little on Aslin. They have made a few really good IPAs, but the best ones (Bringing Sexy Back) aren't up to the level of Tired Hands or Treehouse, at least not yet. Small Town is solid, but its not the juice bomb that people are saying it is. I think people just want to have a local Treehouse, so they're seeing what they want to see in these beers. Their other non-IPA beers are pretty average too. They are showing promise for sure, but lets set the bar a little higher for them.
