I fear the future of craft beer may be nothing but BA stouts and IPAs.

16X16gal kegs = 32,768 ozs / 25 oz(per bottle) leaves us around 1300 bottles that got kegged. Im pretty sure they haven't kegged a lot in the past, this seems like the reason they ran out of bottle so quickly

~2 barrels worth for bottles + 16 kegs worth (5 barrels) probably seems around 7 barrels made

I was told 5 whiskey barrels (bigger apparently) by a worker from there. If it is 16 16 gallon kegs, the number do not add up then.

When I spoke with Andy briefly, he mentioned they had 16 full kegs, and they released roughly 540 bottles. Not sure what the math comes out to, but , Jason apparently didn't want to deal with the lingering bottles at the taproom, he wanted them gone quick, thus all the kegs

Im fairly certain the bottle limit was 4 , but I can't recall what the amount , according to my pictures on my phone it was released 99 weeks ago

    "3/28 at 3pm. 4 bottle limit. $20."

Wasn't sold last year, its every 2 years. Two years ago I was buying bottles in July still.

Either they had issues with some barrels or most is going to distribution. No way there is only 500 bottles.

I thought the same thing... Maybe stop by Sunday or next week and grab a few bottles and avoid the crowd. Oops! :grimacing: oh well, you win some you lose some

Ohhh yeah, this didn't come out last year. I was just trying to understand how it didn't sell out so quickly last time. They did respond to someone on Twitter saying ~500 bottles, which seems ridiculous if they kegged so much. I guess I understand not wanting bottles to linger for months, which is why I was wondering how much they bottled last time that it hung around so long.

Do you have a liquor store nearby? Most places got cases upon cases.

I'm kinda surprised Steel Toe had a 4 bottle per person limit at a ~500 bottle count release... not that it mattered to me, nor that it was a bad call, just wondering if they properly anticipated the demand. I, like others, thought I could waltz in this weekend or next week for a bottle or two! Good for Steel Toe to sell out of a release within two hours, though. Proves they are making legit product.

Yeah but they could have sold out in 7 minutes with a case limit...or instantly with a 2 case limit

I think his point was a 1 or 2 bottle limit could have been a better idea to allow more people a chance to buy some while still selling out rather quickly.

Yes I was being facetious. I too agree with that thought process
