I.C / IC Lite. And related paraphenalia. Sent my uncle in law a IC Lite license plate after he did me a decent on some FL potables.

Sure, but I'm saying saisons are indigenous to Wallonia (as were grisettes, which are basically a splinter "sub-style"), whereas @Evahflow seemed to make the analogy that grisettes:south Belgium::saisons:north Belgium, which I don't think is true. From my understanding, Flanders just doesn't do saisons.*

*EDIT: Okay, after a little research, there are some Flemish saisons, but they're relatively new & in emulation of the Wallonian ones. Saison is still recognized as distinctly a south Belgian style.

Has anyone here had 2008A Gratitude? I'm wondering if its worth it to buy 2 bottles in a few weeks if they're available. Also what made 2005's batch so special? Sorry, gratitude noob.

    Rarity.

Edit: That's not to say it wasn't a good beer, but its just as good as any other year for Gratitutde, which is to say very good, but it was half the bottles of the 2006 and on release. So rarity is pretty much the sole reason it earns a spot on those BA trading lists.

I am pretty sure they sold the last of them 2 or 3 yrs back when they first moved into the new building. The ones from last year and this are from a personal collection.

You know what, I misread @bren4220's post. Thought he was asking if it was worth it to buy a couple 05s. My mistake.

I finally had the chance to make it down to Insurrection yesterday afternoon, had the Mosaic Single Hop Pale Ale, the Pretty Hop Machine IPA, and got tastes of the Invisible Swordsman (rustic wheat) and a coffee porter that I can't remember the name of. All good, the hoppy stuff was standout. I see today they have a Gose on tap, wish I had gotten to try that one.

Space is nice, on the small-ish side but as big or bigger than some other local tap rooms. The weather was nice enough yesterday that the roll-up doors were open which probably made the back corner feel a little more open. Nicely setup so you can see the brewhouse, cellar, and some various barrels hanging around as well as the foudre behind glass.

Food options looked nice, although I only had some cheeses, great cheese selection is a definite plus. Prices on beers were nice.

I'd recommend anyone that hasn't checked it out yet to give them a try. A very nice addition to the Pittsburgh area beer scene.

Wanted to go to Roundabout today but was outvoted with the dog being the swing vote, so I got stuck going to Brew Gentlemen instead.

Seriously though, today it hit me that these are the issues I deal with when wanting to drink local in Pittsburgh in 2016 and it's awesome.

Had an '08 about six weeks ago. Friend swore they got a bunch of cardboard and thought it was highly oxidized, but I didn't feel the same way. Guess it would depend on the bottle price.

I purchased a couple bottles of the 2008A a few years ago. I consumed them within the first year of buying them. At that time the burnt taste was still there. So I probably wouldn't buy anymore. As for the 2005 that was the first year it was released and only 500 bottles. Your best bet for this year would be to purchase a 2006 for onsite consumption and wait until the line dies down to get this years. Or wait a few months and purchase it then.:stuck_out_tongue:
Sounds about right man. Here is a link regarding the details: http://www.eastendbrewing.com/gratitude/
If I remember correctly you were one of the lucky 26?

Was it an '08 or '08A?

Why is nobody talking about Brew Gentlemen? I was there Thursday and had Mammoth and Legendary Weapons and they were incredible! Thought there would be more chatter about these guys but it seems like 95% of this thread is about everything but beer from the area.

Think there is ample praise for their beers on here (myself included). But thanks for lowering that average.

I think BG might get more on here unless it's a barrel room release
