I'm flying out for the Boise State v. MSU game. Are there any good beer bars or breweries in East Lansing? I'll be short on time so I'll probably only be able to stop at one or maybe two places. Any advice would be great!
Crunchys is awesome. Oades Big Ten for beer to go. When will u be around MSU? Are you bringing any beers from ID? I plan on getting there around 3 PM. Oh and go MSU!
I'm actually flying to Michigan from California. I can get a lot of local stuff from the central coast and a lot of stuff from san diego. Can you bring beer on a plane flight?
In your suitcase you can bring beer. Depending on when you are in town Crunchys is your best bet. You will have no chance to get in there Friday. Anyplace around campus will be crazy around the game. Your best bet will be saturday afternoon. And of course, GO STATE!!!
Here's a 'Places' search for the area. I've only been to Crunchy's and it deserves to be the most hyped place on the list. But there are other places to consider because I know Crunch's is very hard to get into at times. Maybe others will add comments about some of the other places. (The Michigan Brewing Company pub is in downtown Lansing, and it may or may not be open since the brewery itself has gone belly-up. Call ahead if you want to try that one.) http://beeradvocate.com/beerfly/list
I'm gonna show up to tailgate with an Alpinee Pure Hoppiness and a sixer of Founders All Day IPA. I hope that'll be enough.
Crunchys will be fine well before the game. But the closer you get to start time the worse it'll get. BTW, GRBrew, you going to go?
I'm going of course. Planning on going up to Crunchy's to tailgate, and maybe Peanut Barrel, only becuase of their prime outside location. We usually do a tailgate, but will hold back this game since Friday is kinda screwing it up for some people in my group. They didn't have the foresight to take the day off like I did.
I wish. I have an eight week old baby at home so football games are going to be tough this year. I'm trying to convince the wife to at least go tailgating for the Eastern game. Don't feel too sorry for me as I had the foresight to build a movie theater in my basement with a 106 inch projector. The little guy and I will be watching games in style this fall.
Correct. Also, our plan is to hit Crunchy's for lunch and a few beers before we head off to tailgate.
Yup. Right next to the theater is my bar complete with flat screen, foosball, darts, poker table and my two tap kegerator. I got bored the last couple of winters and just started building stuff.
I got bored last fall and decided to buy a house to flip. It has now been one year and the thing still hasn't sold. I'm going to have to slow down on the construction work for a while. The only problem is I want to build a brew shed. So you know, I am a lawyer and have no idea how I got into being a handyman. My father could barely use a screwdriver.
