So, we had this Saturday in Sioux Falls at Brrrvana. It needs more time I'm thinking. Maybe my hopes are way too high after the showstopper that was Starkeller Peach though.

I seem to recall the same thoughts on a few of the Nobel Star beers that were brought to events like this ahead of their release.

Hopefully that is the case. I know they have sat on some of the releases longer because they didn't feel it was ready. In fact, they are still sitting on the one with boysenberries hoping it will mellow.

Tap. I'll be giving it another try at Rare Beer Fest in a couple weeks to see if there are any differences.

So, if this is not that good, why am I having trouble finding it?

Who said it's not that good? Are you basing that on the one positive review posted to BA so far with a 4.24 score that still mentioned it being lighter in taste/pucker relative to Starkeller?

I don’t get why this has to be measured straight up to Starkeller. They're different beers. I don’t remember people comparing Black Forest to Framboise and getting bent out of shape about it. Schells cranks out two or three of these every year. So far they have ranged from pretty damn good to gaddam amazing. Some are better than others but it's always a pretty big deal when a new one is announced and later released. I didn’t piss and moan because Cyprus wasn’t as good, IMO, as Dawn, the standard bearer of the series so far, IMO. I still enjoyed Cyprus.

These are the best beers being made in Minnesota. Just because the next one isn't as good as the last, or ages as well as another, doesn't mean it sucks.

Seems like availability varies on the Noble Star series. I struggled to find a Starkeller Peach, but some of them were no problem. Will this one be hard to find?

If you really want to try it, I'd recommend picking it up soon. It's not too tough to get now but it might be hard to find in a week or two. It also could sit on shelves for months like some of the series, although I doubt this given the inherent hype of any stone fruit sour.

This was a sarcastic comment bAsed upon comments here and in the bottle hunt thread (and that I have not been able to locate a bottle). I have thought the entire series has been great.

THere was multiple cases at St. Anthony Village by 88. I bought one, thought it was OK, but enjoyed the cromulence I also bought a bit more for the price. $6 for a good sour is pretty hot

After trying Apricot Vista again last night on draft, it was much better in my opinion. The smell was on point and the taste was much improved. Great tartness that played well with the apricots. I picked up a fair share of bottles driving from Sioux Falls to the metro area this weekend. Can't wait to open a bottle tonight.
