I tried a whirlpool for the first time...

    Excellent! How'd you whirlpool? Do you have a whirlpool arm or did you use a paddle?

    I used a paddle. I chilled 75% faster and got more beer out of the kettle! I can't believe I just found out about this lol

    Right on! I've been wanting to give this a try. Mind sharing how long you whirlpooled for?

    This was my first time and I pulled the the cooler out, gave it a stirl for about a minute, then put the lid on and started racking after about 15 minutes.

    I did periodically stir it with the chiller in. wasn't really a whirlpool though

    I use a wine stir bar drill attachment on a slower speed. It shears a bit but it aerates the hell out of the wort. It also helps get from 130 to 75 in a hurry

    Exactly, except when it's wort it foams up after a bit. I do it longer than that too
