Saw something on Twitter from HF retweeting pic or bottles and saying something about HF being back in Montreal.
If anything, I would assume it would be available at Vices Versa...mind you, a 9$ bottle at HF will run you 45$ at vices
Le Trou du Diable is the importer and has very good working relationship with them I would not say tons just sold to locations that treat it with respect. As to Hillfarmstead know there we tweets about him working with a food company as importer but never heard anything further.
A few months back I saw an announcement similar to this. It was a handful of bottles (pretty sure it was only one beer). It sticks in my mind that there was some at a hotel (maybe where @Reynoldsmobile said), Grumman '78 and Isle de Garde. So at one point at least it was briefly available in 750ml bottles at restaurants for 30-40 bucks a pop (I imagine).
Vin Papilllon posted about 5 days ago that they received a small shipment of what I believe was Edith, Everett and maybe Dorothy. Vindamejeanne.com are the importers, I believe.
Thanks. Where can the Cantillon be purchased and iis it reasonable cost? Have a friend up there that is willing to buy up there for me. Thanks.
It can't places have it only for on site consumption. The products are specifically sold to places to enjoy in house at reasonable prices. The amounts received are tiny.
They were pulling your leg because of the huge number of people who have it in their head that it is available all over the place with no problem. That said, there are a few places in Montreal where you can get it if you are into going to a bar and buying a bottle there.
On montreal trading forums, it seems everyone has cantillon for trade. Where are they all getting it?
Some one told me they had so much Cantillon out in Montreal they were dumping it in the St Lawrence. Really ask Cantilon's agent at Le Trou du Diable all I know is what I heard.
Cantillon's former agent (that relationship ended last year) used to sell cases of Cantillon to individuals. The catch was that in order to buy a case of Cantillon, you had to buy 4 cases of some other Belgian beer that you probably had little interest in. Some people did end up with cases of Cantillon from the former agent and this is why they have it available for trade.
