I've been drinking it since 2014. I think this years is the best I've ever had and it's not close for me.

My experience is the same as that reported by @thepenguin, a case of fresh Nugget Nectar every year for the last 7-8 years. No big differences noticed while drinking the first 17 bottles from this year's case.

I do find that some nights it seems a bit different that other nights, but that happens every year and is much more related to what I had for dinner on a particular night than it is to "this year's batch vs last year's batch."

I feel that if I tried to trade for this beer, it would probably be too old to really appreciate it. Where does Troegs distribute?

Or if you've been blasting your palate with hops lately...

    Did someone say 68?!

Haven't tried this year's edition, but it's always had quite the malt backbone. There's a nice hop bite to it, but there's no question that it's a hoppy red ale. Still the best beer that Troegs brews IMO.

No it's the same as it is every year. Just like Celebration, KBS, etc. The beers remain the same. Your palate changes.

I agree with this statement. Have purchased every year since '11.

Has there ever been a seasonal release that didn't get the obligatory "Does (insert beer) taste different this year?"

This was my first time drinking it, and honestly, I didn't see what all the fuss was about. It had a weird, medicinal, metallic taste (didn't even have it out of a can). Could have been a bad bottle I guess, I only got a single of it. I generally don't care for really hoppy amber ales anyway.

This is accurate. The complex hop blend in NN fades very quickly and loses it's unique character about 2 weeks after bottling, and slightly longer after canning, which brings more of the malt and alcohol tastes to the front.

It's best to purchase it and consume it on launch day, and or few days afterwards.

I could say it was similar to years past but my memory is not as good as it used to be.

Haha....It's like the movie When Harry met Sally...."I'd like my malt on the side."

I'll just have to enjoy Firestone Walker then, considering I'm moving less than an hour away from there this summer.

Tried my first ever this past weekend. Not impressed. It's good, but not what I expected based off of the reviews. Very malty in my option.

It's an amber, not an IPA. It's supposed to be malty.

Acquired a case of bottles and a six pack of cans. Finishing the bottles then I will pop a can.

Still think this brew is great. 2016 version. Still liking it. In my humble subjective taste buds opinion....Good stuff !!!!

How is this in a can? I had it before in a bottle and it was indeed, pretty good.

Nugget Nectar is not an IPA, not at all, and it never has been. It is not a pale ale, simply too dark and malt-forward. I realize there are beers of a similar color that are labeled as IPAs, but in my honest opinion these are mislabeled beers. Hey, if it floats your boat to extend the style in this way, have fun, but I don't agree.

Reading this in the Consuela voice makes me chuckle.

    No, no, no ipa. Amber.
