Enjoyed this on tap at Barrelworks (well, the restaurant side). The version I had seemed to have a heavy dosing of Mosaic or Simcoe but apparently the hops were all experimental.

Just for the record though, La Cumbre's Project Dank has been messing around with different hops each batch for a while now. Hops and Grain in Texas does it too with their Greenhouse IPA. I'm sure there are others around the city.

Either way, still excited for this to be bottled and look forward to Firestone Walker soon distributing to New Mexico.

Can't wait for this to hit Texas! As others have said, hope it makes it here fresh!

I had a taste at the source, this stuff is legit ! As a west coast lover of New England IPAs like Tree House and Trillium I am stoked to have this in rotation. Number 1 batch which drops here in So Cal this week is very reminiscent of those great New England IPAs with a nice west coast note. This is not a session IPA, at 5.9% it drinks like a very well made IPA which it is. They will release a new version every 90 days keeping the base beer the same and adding a variety of hops both traditional and experimental. Buy it by the case !

    Cheers……...

I saw Steltz's review and it is very representative of the beer.

    Cheers…...

A good guess is that this beer uses HBC-291 as the hop. It is good to see that hop gaining some interest. Was able to rub a sample between my hands and sniff the aromatics last September.

Phoenix got some last Thurs with canning dates of 2/10. Pretty nice to see some 8-day old IPA when we can't even get our local beers from Flagstaff and Tucson that fresh.

Right on, so they should be on the shelves here in Cali already.

Sounds like an answer to SN Hop Hunter (around 6% and 60 ibus).

I can't wait to try it.

Yea, same problem here with FW. I love their beers but they're rarely fresh.

Preying on the tickers and our fickle nature. Just when I thought I just had to only worry about the batches of Epic Big Bad Baptist or Hess Solis Occasus being different each time, now FW goes and does this!

Is this in Chicago yet? Used to seeing FW arrive 6 or 7 weeks old but saw BGN got one 2 days old. Curious of that was special treatment or if FWs distro has special effort in place to get this brew to shelfs ASAP
