On a little beer trip last week, stopped in at this store in Stanwood. I had never even heard of it, and it's been open a couple years now. About 25 taps for on-premise and growler fills, and a very nice bottle selection. A neat little policy they have is, if you buy the last bottle of something on the shelf, you get a 10% discount on that bottle. Helps with turnover. Friendly staff. A must stop if you're heading out to Camano Island, and probably worth the slight side trip off I-5 if you're headed up or down. It's in the plaza with the QFC, on the right, just as you get into downtown Stanwood.
@John_M , I'm an idiot. Could you change the title from Arlington to Stanwood? We were on our way to Arlington when we stopped. Who even lets me have a computer?
So, we stopped here, then hit http://www.silvanameats.com/ . Best landjagers I've ever had, and a very nice selection of meats, sauces, and rubs. We also hit Whiskey Ridge Brewery in downtown Arlington, neat little nano with some interesting stuff. Swung by Skookum, it's silly not to when in the area, and finished up at Whitewall, another smaller brewery making some interesting beers. They're having their anniversary party on March 5th, with a bunch of barrel-aged brews on tap. if you're into that sort of thing. I think a few of us are thinking of rolling down for that. Anybody interested in meeting up?
Thanks for the tip, I'll check it out. Have you been to the beer place in the Camano "town center" where they have the farmers market? That's a good tap list, if I'm right it's called Collective. I have not made it back to White Wall but I love those totally local places.
No, I haven't. Haven't actually been to Camano since my ex-girlfriend moved off the island about 10 years ago. Been meaning to get to the Diamond Knot outpost down there.
On our way to Whitewall for the party on Saturday, we swung by Ale Spike again, then went out to Collective on Tap. They had a real nice tap list the day we were there. Nothing on the level of walezbro, but very nice variety of styles. They had a couple of "Kill the Keg" taps with reduced prices. One of which was Ninkasi Ground Control. We almost went for it, but the 7oz pour was still a bit high on price, $8 IIRC (which I may not, things got very beery later). Not a destination stop, but if you're in the area, worth stopping in.
