Ran into some of this at a liquor store that I only occasionally swing by...any of y'all had it before? Worth picking up? First time recall seeing it around town, bug not something I've ever been looking for either.

Depends, do you like Karbach Hellfighter?

No Karbach up here in DFW so have yet to try it.

That sucks. Either way, it's solid, but that's just my opinion.

It's very good IMO. Last spring I was fortunate enough to be in the DC area when they released the BA Gonzo...it was a good trip.

I am a huge impy stout and porter guy but i always thought that the flying dog stuff had too much of a hop forward flavor and a back end bitterness to actually be called an imp porter.

Any one seen Gonzo in TX? I love the beer, but haven't seen it here in a long time.

It has not been distributed to Texas in over a year.

...and NOT distributed in Texas. Must be old stuff but it ages OK.

Flying Dog pisses me off since moving to Maryland. They won't send their "good stuff" to Texas. Makes me not care about their "regular" stuff. Pity. They used to be one of my favorites.

Isn't Houston starting to see Canis Major stuff again? I heard that Raging Bitch was on the shelves over there. Not sure if that carries over to Gonzo.

Raging Bitch IS available in Texas, BEK in Austin chooses not to carry it. The rest of the CM line is not. That needs to change IMO.

I have had Gonzo a couple times and really enjoyed it. Cannot recall what I paid and the other time it was in a box.

I would pick it up if I saw it again.

I like that one, I keep it on hand for a quick trip to chill in the fridge. An easily available Baltic Porter for those that dig the style. (Me!)
Flying Dog just needs more love. You should also know they had the services of a brewer from Russian River. He did the recipe for 'The Truth' and fixed the recipe for 'Snake Dog', and they're both excellent!
Sadly, he went back to Cali, just didn't like our weather...

Gonzo, Double Dog, Raging Bitch... all were favs of mine.

The sad truth is.. no "The Truth" in Texas.
