I think they were just too reserved with the coffee to reduce astringency. Although that's what's good about some of these coffees are known for (at least alongside the flavors present) Kona and Sumatra are quite similar, I enjoyed Kona a bit more but was underwhelmed. Hopefully the Guatemala is what I'm hoping for. With a nice roast it makes a hell of an espresso !!

Woah. That does look great. Looking forward to this stuff being canned, until then I guess I'll be dreaming about it. I wonder if they'll can every single bean variety. That'd be a long taste test table with all ten lined up, but that sure does sound great.

Glad to see folks are enjoying the Terrapin. I do hope this single origin beer starts happening more often.

Sumatra and Ethiopian were really good. Kona was tasty as it warmed, but not my favorite.

Will finish the Guatemala tonight I reckon'.

Hmmm, mixed reviews I guess I'll check the price at the store. At 12 - 13 dollars a 4 pack of 5.7% just doesn't peak my interest enough, although the Stone Americano stout I've been enjoying lately might have something to do with it.

Pretty interesting concept. I really enjoy Wake N Bake. We don't get Terrapin in my area though, so I won't be getting any.

Wake N Bake is MUCH better in my opinion. Not that I didn't enjoy these beers, but as others have pointed out they were just a little thin for my preference.

And all of their waxed bottles are artificially flavored.

I tried to resist but I caved yesterday, as far as Terrapin beers being artificially flavored, I noticed last time I saw a Liquid Bliss it now says Natural Flavors added, as did the Tiramisu I had recently, not sure if this is a recent change? I know when Liquid Bliss was released as a Side Project beer it was made with actual peanuts and was way better than the regular release version.

The Side Project Liquid Bliss was a one off, so they could go a little bigger with ingredients. Making it full time in packs meant a few corners had to be cut. And MooHoo made be naturally flavored, but it certainly tastes artificial.

Although I don't expect much, my lady likes coffee beers so I got us a pack to try.

Though artificial ingredients should never be used, and I'm not generally a fan of Terrapin, only one of their waxed bottles (Cinnamon Roll'd) contains artificial flavors.

That is incorrect! I would to a Google search for some of those labels, but I'm being lazy at the moment.

I'll do the work for you.

Cinnamon Roll'd. Clearly states on the front that it uses artificial flavors.

Of all these beers, while mostly terrible, CR is the only with artificial flavors.

I can't emphasis enough how much I'm not defending Terrapin here.

I did the same a few night ago and agreed Sumatra was the best, but to me it was far and away. I would rank them:

    Sumatra
    Ethiopian
    Guatemala
    Kona

I felt they were all lacking a lot of coffee, but Sumatra clearly had the most.

A cool idea and was fun to see the differences side by side, but wouldn't pick it up again.

was $14 here in NJ. quite steep, but a fun buy.

would be fun if they released a hop version of this thing next - same base beer with different single hops.

Tried the Guatemalan last night. Delicious. I thought the coffee really came through, and the wife enjoyed too. Dark Terrapin beers (like WnB) have all been home runs for us. This fits the bill, and it was a great idea. Can't wait for the next one...

Fun concept and a great day to way to taste the differences on the coffees! Sumatra was clear winner in my book.
