Who's going to the brewery for the release this Saturday?

Thanks for the help guys, my friend grabbed me growlers of All Green Everything and Make It Rain. Can't wait to try these this weekend! I've only had a couple of things from OH, and none of the really highly regarded stuff.

 

You're gonna love them I'm sure - this batch of All Green Everything is crazy good.

 

So my brother is willing to deal with the hassle of waiting on line for the release this Saturday. Myself being a local that's at OH at least once a week and refuses to wait in a line for beer was planning on meeting up with my brother in line later in the morning. I probably won't buy a full allotment but he will.

All this being said, how does the board here feel about meeting up with someone in line?

 

Are you going to be picking up an allotment of cans/bottles?

 

what's the proper protocol if you're meeting up with someone like your brother in line? it seems silly to have to go to the back of the line, but also seems equally rude to do the chat and cut.

 

Hmm, you could run into some complications. They have started out passing out bracelets to people as they get into line. If you get a bracelet you are pretty much guaranteed your full allotment. They've got it figured out so that they only pass out enough bracelets assuming everyone in line is gonna buy the full amount. Obviously not everyone does.

So in your case, it could be a bit weird if you show up to the counter without a bracelet (even if you're not buying the full amount.) Not sure how much they enforce this.

You can still meet up with him and not buy cans/bottles. You just said you're not willing to wait in line for beer, but if you can cut in line you will? Seems like you're trying to justify cutting other people because you're "a local that's at OH at least once a week" and "probably won't buy a full allotment".

 

I would say bad idea. Cutting in line has gotten really bad and people are getting pretty tired of it and speaking up.

 

Saturday should be fun. Better bring some popcorn.

 

I just texted me friend when I was about 15 minutes from getting my allotment and he joined and went into the taproom and bought us a beer each to enjoy there. Why not just do that?

 

More than likely I'll probably not even end up going. Just wanted to gauge the public reaction because I consider myself to be a somewhat considerate person. Getting a beer or two in that tiny mobbed out taproom doesn't sound like a good time. Guess I'm a little jaded being there on Wednesdays/Thursdays. I'll sleep in Saturday.

Gonna be a cold one tomorrow morning - not supposed to hit above freezing until 10am. At least it's not as bad as 2 weeks ago.

 

Yikes. Not as bad as 2 weeks ago, but still pretty cold. Might have to bring a refreshment or two to keep myself warm in line.
