It seemed to still be pouring at last call last night, so might still be on today when they open.

This is the earliest I remember having it, at least in the past 5 years or so and the freshness makes an enormous difference.

I must be doing something wrong. I ran a google search of PtY in PDX last night and even glanced at the Belmont Station website (as I figured they would be one of the keg recipients). There was absolutely nothing new on line and the BS website made no mention of PtY.

    Oh well...

They, and other bars are just putting it on and not listing it or announcing it. Apex is doing the same thing. Not going to put it on their board and they made sure to say INQUIRIES are NOT WELCOME. The only clue will be if the tap handle is out.

whatever. If I run in to it, great! but if not, I have no intention to play these stupid f*%$in games with beer bars.

I saw it on someone's instagram account in Portland. That's the only way I noticed late last night.

I would also search untappd and follow Twitter/Instagram feeds of folks like @brewpublic, New Schol Beer etc.

In response to @derftron, yes, APEX has a super lame approach to the whole thing, but what would you expect. Belmont Station on the other hand I think did a nice job. Nothing was hidden about it (right there on the menu), but they certainly didn't broadcast it either. They also donated half of the glass price to Habitat for Humanity as per usual.

Just the usual stellar customer service at Apex. As Red Medicine alluded to, what else would you expect?

This is just par for the course with them.

Yeah, there's probably enough left in the keg for 30-40 glasses, so it should be pouring for a little while. However now that the word is out I'm assuming it'll be busy right off the bat when we open.

You can blame me for the lack of announcement if you want. The keg rolled in yesterday and as we looked at our calendar we realized we didn't have a single 3 day span without something going on until late March, and we obviously didn't want to wait that long to tap it. I pitched the idea of just tapping it and letting word spread organically (which it did), and the boss agreed.

Since it was a last minute decision we hadn't increased staffing beyond a normal Tuesday level, so to avoid causing a shit show and killing our bartenders we decided not to announce it on FB or Twitter. That said, I'm not sure why it wasn't listed on our website.

I apologize to anyone who was expecting us to do another ticketed event this year.

Had my pour at Belmont. Delicious beer. First time trying it. But there are certainly better offerings out there.

Yea i wasnt including Belmont in my snark. I have no problem with them just putting it on and seeing what happens. Apex just seems to be going out of there way to antogonize customers like "look how big of dicks we can be with something you want to try... hahahaha" . I mean, why even order a keg at all if that is how you are going to act?

and for the record Ive had this beer plenty of times, not all that worked up about having it again.

Damn! I remember how annoyed I was several years ago when they were charging $8 for a 10 ounce pour! That's pretty impressive.

That's too bad, but then again not the cheapest place to start. Really makes you appreciate how Belmont Station handles it.
