I think it's because a lot of people (myself included) haven't gone that many years in a row, and the weather in April has been pretty questionable the last few years. Also, if 2014 was mid 50s and sunny, it sure changed pretty quick towards the mid afternoon. I was Group C, I think, and was pretty chilly the entire time I was there.

Either way, I would imagine that given how the weather has been this winter, we've probably got a pretty mild DLD coming up.

That's one way to look at it...or you could say that winter is going to give some huge April snow storm and it'll be freezing. You never know around here!

I'm looking forward to hopefully going this year for the first time, so hopefully the weather isn't too awful. It sounds like something I need to experience at least once, so I'm all in for trying to get tickets.

Just remember like two days before and two days after DLD last year were freaking beautiful around there. It was basically one terrible day of weather which is kinda just how Apil goes. Count me in as going with or without a ticket and for being much better prepared for the weather regardless of the forecast. It's a great time and should be experienced at least once.

It was really windy in 2014 as the day progressed....that wind made it pretty chilly. At least that's what my friends told me....I was too drunk to care.

Anything but precipitation is my motto for DLD weather. Cold, hot, windy, whatever; as long as I'm not wet.

Bingo. Go with the right attitude and be willing to share & converse and you'll have a great time. Other than that, be prepared for the weather.

Oh yeah, make sure you bring protection for your pretzel necklace too.

Looks like Dark Lord details have been announced. Wow, $200 a ticket, I'm out! What I do like is that it seems like they are going to be extremely harsh trying to prevent a ton of muling. I'd honestly say back in 2009-2011, this was one of the best stouts in the country. Today, I can just go to my beer store for special releases and get better though.

I was thinking of going too but that is just ridiculous. You get 5 beers and food vouchers but come on! This event is for the privileged few. Wish I had some extra cash I could throw around.

Wow, but taking a cue from Cigar City, I don't have a problem with this at all. Bummed I'll be out of town at a prior engagement.

It looks like tickets this year include 4 bottles of reg and 1 variant. Last year, the 4-pack was $60 and the variant was $50. So it's more like $90 for a ticket, and you're guaranteed a variant. That's a huge difference over having to win a lottery to have the option to buy a variant.

You're also getting $40 worth of food. Really this isn't a huge difference in price but for $200 I'd like to see them pay for your parking as well.

It's not a bad deal if you break it down from last year: $40 for the ticket, $80 for the 4 DLs ($20 a piece), $50 for a variant. That's $170 without food and drink. The price really hasn't changed. I love this. I will definitely be gunning for my 4th year in a row!

Now instead of folks complaining they didn't get a variant, they'll complain they didn't get the vanilla variant

Certainly an interesting development this year. Obviously the guaranteed variant is the game changer this year & tying it into a 'package' ticket makes sense. No need for cash to be exchanged in the warehouse should make that process run a bit more efficiently hopefully. Thinking they might still have lotto tickets to determine which variant one gets?

Knee-jerk reaction was "holy shit, that's ridiculous!"

Math breakdowns make it seem pretty solid. Assuming you spend your $40 of food/drink and want 4 DL ($20)+ variant ($50), you're literally paying $30 a ticket, which is perfectly fine.

Great if you love the beer. I'm happy. Hopefully this eliminates some people from buying.

Dude I spent $50 at the guest taps alone. Not carrying around $500 in cash will make me less paranoid this year haha
