I will have another shuttle going to and from DLD this year as we have had in the past leaving from LP Binny's. Do not expect anything higher than the standard $20 round trip and will post if there are openings that arise from folks from the last several years exercising their right of first refusal.

I read earlier today via FFF Facebook page that Dark Lord Day tix will be $200 this year.

$200 for a beer event! You can get Bourbon County for "free", just stand in line in Black Friday.

Now, this $200 includes admission, 4 '16 Dark Lords, 1 Dark Lord BA variant, some sort of bag with a t-shirt (who cares- I don't wear my beer), and $40 vouchers for food.

What are the thoughts on this? Are they doing this because they got hosed last year with the terrible weather?

I totally get it, avoiding cash transactions and making it easy, but $400 for 2 tix UP FRONT for beer is a lot.

What are your thoughts on all this?

Never been to DLD, but guaranteed 4 bottles plus variant (lottery style previously?) sounds good to me. Other stuff is bonus.

Id do it. I actually like the idea of it being more elusive..... I know I'm gonna get bashed for that comment but whatever.

Sounds like a good deal to me, I'd do it for sure if I was around there.

Sadly I've seen this event become less interesting over the years due to the price jumps. More of a cult following than a craft beer event. I just live a few miles away from it also.

They're doing this because it's way more lucrative and their event rival, Hunahpu day, is doing 200-300-400 dollar tiers. They want to be on that level financially because their tap list for the event usually attempts to rival Hunahpu's. It's steep but the BA variant sounds too good to be true! Well worth it, in my opinion!

5 beers plus $40 food, that's worth 200 bucks right there. Plus you get to party all day!

I just hope the later groups don't take forever to pick out the variants once the top dogs are gone.

its cheaper than buying a tix, beer, a varient, and a few brews. this makes it cheaper

I'm ok with the new format change. I don't need to carry around $200 of cash while wasted and I can get more drafts this year. This also means most people will eat something during the day and not just try the liquid diet all day.

Best bottle share of the year, once that goes away then DLD will be a shell of what its about. Until then I'll drop $200 for a great beer event.

As for getting there we have taken a couple different routes, we took a private car, took the train with Uber / cab, took a bus from the city. I think the bus is the best and cheapest route.

I am wondering if the beer vouchers are intended to keep people from getting sh** faced drunk and face planting in the mud. If so, I will miss seeing that.

I wonder if you'll be able to give your unused voucher's away to other people if you don't use them all or if they'll gave your name on them as well.

That could give more incentive for the people that want to jet after they get their bottles, while possibly making lines less congested.

People keep saying you get 5 drink vouchers and $40 worth of food vouchers. I totally don't get where people are reading this.

    The site states:
"Upon entering Dark Lord Day you will receive a commemorative tote bag with $40 worth of food and drink vouchers inside."

I interpreted this as you get a GRAND TOTAL of $40 worth of vouchers. These vouchers are good for food and/or drink.

I swear I've read the whole site, but I can't find why folks believe something different.

EDIT: After reading a tweet by FFF, I think I'm correct.

As a point of reference, tickets to Hunahpu's Day were $200 (4 bottles of Hunahpu and food vouchers included) or $300 (8 bottles of Hunahpu and food vouchers included). No bottle shares at the event and no variant bottle included, but free pours from over 150 breweries with quite a few #whalez.

Slightly different organization, but similar price point.

they are saying you get 5 bottles of DL and $40 in food/drink(for taps not DL) vouchers....so you could spend all 40 on food or drink or whatever in between
