Last night I was at local bar for a Dogfish Head Night and they were giving away raffle tickets for a DFH merch drawing if you bought a flight. My wife won a DFH trucker hat and I came pretty close to winning a signed DFH framed picture by Mr. Calgione himself. What cool things have you won or come close to winning at bar events?
during beer week my team (in large part to me ) did impressively well in a beer trivia night. 4th place only after competing against 2 breweries (some owners, brewers, sales reps etc) that were present. won some stuff i didnt keep but it was more exciting not placing dead last against all those knowledgable people won a bottle of fantome at my friends christmas party (works for a beer bar) raffle!
At the very first Fred Fest (2006 I think?), I won a magnum of Fish Barrel-aged Leviathan that someone had donated to the charity raffle. Beyond that, I won a PBR t-shirt at a bar trivia event a few months back, but that's about it.
Went to an Irish Pub on "Halfway to St. Patty's Day," and wasn't expecting anything to be happening. Everyone got a raffle ticket as they walked in. The table next to us left, and gave us their tickets. Sure enough, the ticket they gave us was the winner of a Guinness Dart board.
My wife killed the keg of Schell's Oktoberfest this past fall and won a 1 liter boot full of the beer from the new keg- plus she got to keep the boot.
I won a surfboard from a Foster's beer giveaway about 8 years ago, it was sweet, it was as decent board and just had an easy peel Fosters sticker on it that was easily removed.
I have an uncanny ability to win t-shirts two sizes too big, and always in the last drawing of the night. Looks like someone's watching over me.
