Bought some in Boston today. Anyone know which hop was used in Rev 001?

    Not exactly.
"Luponic Distortion is an intentional departure from the heavier style of many IPAs. Instead, it aims for a razor-like brightness, providing a clean platform for the hop aromas to pop as vividly as possible.
As many as nine different hops will be included in each release, with up to six used in the dry hopping alone. However, with each release, the brewing team is going to turn up the volume a different featured experimental hop, which will be dry hopped in greater quantity than the others.
“We can completely evolve, change and redirect this thing as new hops come to us and as we get to know the hops better,” says Brewmaster Matt Brynildson. “Luponic is this beer that can keep morphing and stay interesting and remain out in front of this crazy hop wave.” -FW.com

Most places in Baltimore also have it. Nice beer, I prefer other Firestone IPAs to this one but it's definitely tasty.

Time to explore? There are far fewer single hop IPAs out there than traditional multi-hop varieties.

I hope they reveal which hops they used, or the featured hop used at some point.

I'd honestly love a cascade single hop IPA

That's my favorite hop I've brewed a few single hop cascade beers that were awesome. Also had a hill farmstead single hop cascade that was also awesome.

Obviously, #math. I totally respect the opinion that single hop beers aren't interesting, it's an individual beer drinker's choice whether or not to purchase those products. There are so many choices out there, we can have both.

Had a sample here in Dorchester. Not too shabby. I'll look to seeing how this beer evolves with each new hop addition.

    Anchor Liberty Ale.
Not a big fan of cascade myself, which is why it took me so long to get a taste for IPA's.

Quite fresh. Kegs are dated 2/17.

I found it at Cheers in Salisbury if you're on the Eastern Shore.

This stuff is great! As mentioned, surprisingly full flavored for a single hop. Hits So Cal today! (Well, Ventura County 2/29/16).

@bulletrain76 might be able to give some more info on the hops. Still got a couple more cans to get through, but it's really growing on me. First can I thought a touch green and thin, but the last couple have really opened up w/ some cool aromas/flavors -- I got an almost berry-like note in it. Cool idea and looking forward to seeing what other spins they put on this with future releases.

I wouldn't consider Easy Jack a successful beer. It's thin and nasty.

Just for the record: aside from EJ, 805 and Pivo, I love all their beers. I sure hope this new series is more suited to my personal palate.

I find most sessions even thinner personally. I can add water to an IPA and get the same result. Aside from the style being unappealing to me I like the flavor of easy jack, at least last time I had it probably 12 months ago

I had it on draft at a concert. From my review:

"...Just awful. Almost no malt to support the hops. It's like somebody took a good pale ale and watered it down..."

"...Aroma is weak and thin, with citric hops and a candy sweetness..."

"...Flavor is thin: minimal malt presence to back up the hops. Like a proper IPA cut with water then dry hopped. The flavor is nearly all hop and is one dimensional. More bitterness than this brew can handle comfortably on the finish. Totally disagreeable..."

But, I'm a total FW fanboy and look forward to trying Luponic Distortion.
