No pic, but I'm finishing off the night with a bottle of Breakside Bourbon Barrel aged Salted Caramel Stout. The whiskey flavor's super strong here; it could stand to use some age, but if you like straight bourbon, you'll probably love this.

I also had a glass two year old pinot noir barrel aged Barleywine from Oakshire at their tasting room earlier tonight, and it was as good as a barleywine gets.

@SawDog505, is that the Amandine Exorcism? I saw CS' post on facebook about it. How is the almond liqueur coming through? I might throw up a trade for this one

I was really blown away. Less than $14 and very tasty. I reviewed it last night. I only have one left, already have a deal for one of the 3 I got. A little almond in it, but a treat!

Sounds like a fun but expensive goal. I was on an Imperial stout kick a few weeks ago. It got pricey.

My mistake. It is not BA. It was very good nonetheless.

No worries...just wondered if I missed something! I think they ought to do a BA version, but then again, I think that about just about every stout.

You were so impressed that it blew your mind and you lost all sense of thought, huh?! I can't fault you for that.

I'm more of an IPA enthusiast, but I've been experimenting with more BA stouts (not FIS, lol). I have a few ready for upcoming Fridays. Any favorites that you recommend?

Well, I'd have to represent the area here by saying BCBS. The regular is amazing in and of itself, and the variants can be great (as long as they taste the way they're supposed to). It's hard to know what's available in your neck of the woods, though. Sounds like you get Founders, so I would check out KBS when it gets released in a month or so. I'd certainly get Weyerbacher Sunday Morning Stout if I were in your area - it's a coffee BA stout, and while I like Founders' KBS and GI BCBCS better, it's still a really good beer and a great value.

I've only been into BA stouts for a little over a year, and I was hooked really quick. The way I really got into them more was by going to various tap takeovers at bars where they had multiple BA stouts available.

I prefer Saison Sunday...has a better ring to it and I like saisons. Also why limit yourself to trying a new beer one day out of the week? That means only 52 new beers that you try a year... Everyday should have an equal opportunity for trying a new beer on any given day of the year! Cheers!
