Brewery + Karaoke?

There was a video of me trying to sing Brandy at a wedding reception floating around for a while between my friends. Ugly, ugly scene. No one needs that.

 

A few years ago my family went to a Bar Mitzvah and my kids were being sticks in the mud- not taking advantage of all of the fun activities that the hosts planned, just sitting at the table with other kids acting 'too cool for school'. So my wife and I went into the karaoke booth, belted out a few Beatles songs (enthusiastically badly ), and made a CD of them. On the way home I played it over and over in the car and made the boys listen- that'll teach 'em! I think that disc still exists- maybe it'll eventually make a nice wedding gift...

 

At least you were trying to be bad. Everyone thinks they're Sinatra at 11:30.

 

I guess so- I've never actually experienced it in a bar. Our own attitude was more like "fuck it, let's have fun" rather than trying to be bad, and that's what I would hope it would be like more often. Not to be, it seems.

 

The moral of the story is, I've seen the video and I absolutely deserved to be made fun of. I'll also probably do it again at some point. Everyone's attitude is fuck it, let's have fun. The problem is no one gets that attitude until it's way too late in the evening to not be awful. It's kind of a conundrum that way. Cheers sir!
