I used Echo Limo but there are a ton of different providers. I've used them for other things and I like their online booking.

No way I would have been able to pick up bottles for D or E last year. Maybe not even C haha.Sure I could not start at 630 but that's half the fun.

I wouldn't drink regular DL expecting it to blow you away like Bourbon County. I like regular DL, and if you've never tried it I would definitely suggest spending the time and money to go. The barrel aged variants are excellent, and if you play your cards right, there's a great chance that you'll get to try many of them at DLD.

All that said...let's say you go to the event, hate the beer, hate the variants, etc....I promise you this: DLD is one best people watching experiences I've ever enjoyed....and that's coming from someone that's been in over 100 airports, lol.

Bottle share in line at 7am is the best. Gotta start with coffee stouts in the am though!

In 2013 I had group E and got there at 7am with some Group A's. It was a rough Sunday.

we were first in line at the south gate last year around 7pm or so....camped in tents overnight. bottle shared all night and all morning. saturday was such a long day. I'm halfway tempted this year to just try for later group tickets and show up in the afternoon. enjoy the guest taps and hang out for a while...and go home.

Clarification on the vouchers, there will be booths where you can buy more vouchers if you run out. So looks like no paying cash at the draft lines, should keep things moving fast, only hopefully you won't need to wait in a long voucher line if you need more. I have certainly seen that at other festivals. Although getting $40 worth of vouchers right upon entry should alleviate any huge lines at the voucher tents.

Also a good move not fumbling for cash at the front of the line. Seems like a lot of centralizing cash collection... which probably makes things load easier for FFF on the back end.

Now, if they could just put some line control in front of the guest taps and make it clear that you can order any beer at a tent from any station...

I'm all for removing the exchanging of cash at big festivals like this.

The key point is how many ticket stations will they have. Quite a few festivals in Cincinnati do the seperate ticket sales and it goes pretty well for the most part. The exchanging of cash/credit cards is just unfortunately a time consuming task.

Shhhhhush. Don't be telling people how the guest taps and lines work.

Behemoth is playing in Chicago the night before DLD, so I assume they're on the bill.

Except it says they are in Minneapolis on the 30th. @kidzord had the band scoop last year. Maybe he'll have something for us this year.

Maybe they will still come and play while in a barrel. If that doesn't happen and they don't make the bill, I sure hope it'll make the taps

Cannibal Corpse and Obituary are currently touring together, and both recently did collab beers with FFF. So... maybe?

I think the most important question is, what's Big Freedia's schedule? :grinning:

Ok, full disclosure, despite enjoying metal I really did enjoy her set last year, and I think that would've been true even if I hadn't been drinking BBDL at the time.

I was mentioning how it would be insanely amazing if behemoth played dark lord day. itd actually be worth staying sober for. however, the friday share before dl that we have set up, is not worth staying sober for and seeing behemoth. id love to see cannibal corpse as well. eyehategod and skeletonwitch ill pass on (seen em both at least twice now?)

CC is in Austria on April 30, sadly for us. Obituary has nothing around that date, though. Hope springs, etc.

That is exactly what a friend of mine & I were talking about, just have the 5 pack be in a sealed box so that you have no clue what variant that you get until after you open the box later

Yep, it would certainly move the line a lot faster. Take the ticket/cut the wristband or whatever, hand over a bag of 5 bottles and shoo people away.
