Honestly, I feel the same way. I like their beer, but last time I was there I really thought the food was exceptional. Interestingly, I remember seeing a certain opinionated contributor to this thread recommend North Country to a visitor once or twice.

I don't think i've ever noticed the cellar beers before. I agree that the food is the main draw there, but the setting, especially the outdoor patio, has got the be the nicest brewpub atmosphere in western PA. We always stop for lunch after hiking at mcconnell's mills, and i can't think of a better way to relax after being out all day.

Thanks for mentioning this, as I foresee my fiancée and I doing this on a nice sunny afternoon when Spring rolls around. Sounds like a great way to spend the day.

Yeah it's at the brewpub. It's called "Sam's Stash", vintages of different bottles there every week. There was 2008 Fort when I was there in June.

Are there more left? I'd consider it if I wasn't already splitting an allotment with someone....good luck, man...

There are 3 left. Meadville opens at 3:00 again, and if any remain they'll be sold at Homestead at 4:00.

I have to believe there will be at least three people waiting for the door to unlock in Meadville and we will hear that it's all gone at 3:06...

My bad. I took the dogfish brewery tour when we were down there a few years ago, and the most fascinating part was looking at sam's secret stash. It was PALLETS of cases stacked four shelves high and about 15 rows. There were at least 2,000+ cases. I have a picture somewhere that i'll try to dig up.

I'm going to take a big leap and say that the crowd will be a bit thinner for gratitude this year? Especially with the BBA not being released at the same time and not having people visiting for Voodoo's release on the same day.

Funny...I was just thinking about this today...

Not only do I think you're right...but I bet they end up with so much still hanging around come BA release time, that they package them together and make you buy both. They have a track record for that sorta shit over there...

It also has seem to fallen off the trade boards too. Granted there are still people who want it, but I'm just wondering if it's glory days are over as trade bait.

Different dates though regarding East End and Voodoo. Gratitude Day is on the 12th, whereas the Barrel Room pick up is on the 26th.

    oh without a doubt...

But I'm okay with that...still the best (perhaps by virtue of being one of the only) barleywine in the city...

Yeah. Saw that. They said he put away cases of 120, WWS etc for birth years of his kids for when they turn 21

Someone should tell @SamCalagione that most in the Pittsburgh thread are fond of him. That and thanks for the autographed Higher Math bottle.

Correct. I think that most of the folks who are interested in Gratitude joined BA at least 5-6 years ago during that beer's heyday and have hook-ups for it still. Newer out of area BAs don't know what Gratitude is and don't care either. Doesn't help that East End had 3 years of quality issues to sap interest.

What are the details on 2016 Gratitude day? Can't seem to find anything. Love that beer
