can you give me a reference to the taste? I've had JO Brick Kiln and Hoppin Frog's Naked Evil and liked them both

I'll be there for the release, just don't know if I'll be drinking then

Well the version they're releasing on 3/12 is non-BA...however, I'd say it's still pretty damn complex for a non-BA barleywine...definitely American style (hoppy) and pretty boozy fresh (which I actually enjoy a good bit)...most #realmoney BAs here would tell you that it's best with age. Perhaps that's true...but I dig it so much fresh, that I'm not sure if I notice as much of a difference as some others claim to taste...

Either way, I'd take a non-BA Grat over both of the beers you mentioned above, and I love BA Brick Kiln.

that works. I've had both versions of brick kiln, the ba was a little more boozy, but liked them both.

I see now that you were referencing the non-BA version of Brick Kiln. Grat is definitely more boozy than Brick Kiln...both reg and BA for that matter...just in my opinion...

Anyone been to either Headkeeper in Greensburg or Pour in Ebensburg? Have a friend headed out that way this weekend and, while I've heard good things about both, haven't been to them myself.

I've been to headkeeper a few times. Strange menu for a place like Greensburg. From what i remember, it was a whole menu full of $8-14 small plates (appetizers?) like seared ahi tuna bites and stuff like that. The food wasn't bad, but it was expensive and the menu was bizarre.

Edit: here's the menu http://www.theheadkeeper.com/menu/ definitely not your conventional beer bar menu and the portions are confusing

They have a really good beer selection (probably 300+ bottles) and the prices were on the high side, but I'd go back again due to not much else being walking distance from the Palace Theater to pregame before a concert.

Mr Bones in Greensburg for your more typical sub/sandwich shop with good craft options.

Any chance Pittsburgh area sees Rodenbach Alexander on the shelves? Know we see the Rouge and Grand Cru, but not sure how big the rerelease of Alex is to be.

I started working on this and BA Chimay blue yesterday, so I hope so.

Also, for the guy looking for founders curmudgeon a few pages back, it'll be showing up this week. Shadyside will have it tomorrow.
