I bet it will be online anyways, like last year.

I am very hopeful for that. Although if FFF does a special anniversary glass I doubt that glass would be online at any point....most likely something you'd have to track down that day.

i want to say everything was available after even the coffee bombers, in fact I'm 99% sure cause i was kicking myself in the ass for waiting in that damn glass line for 2 hours. Then my buddies got it all online.

Right....but that was all via Dark Matter. Dark Matter does the mini snifter, coffee mugs, pimp cups, coffee bottles....etc. I'm saying that if FFF made a separate glass related to their own anniversary, I doubt that one would be online. If Dark Matter ends up making that anniversary glass, then I am more hopeful that it would be online.

This could potentially kinda suck...but until this year you didn't even know if you were getting a variant. So, luck of the draw would continue to apply.

This would be kinda awesome... but yeah, doubtful.

I'd like to see them do 1 mini snifter and 1 anniversary glass and just pass them out with the bag with food/drink vouchers.

My annual Dark Lord Day post!

When I went there in 2004 there was no line. In 2005, about 4 of us in line. How things have changed!

Why yes, I would appreciate it if you stayed off my lawn. Thanks for asking.

    Have fun you crazy kids.

    Your old pal, jackndan

So, does anyone actually forego the bottle sharing outside of the event and just partake on what is actually inside? I'm just wondering...and whether the fact that people now have already pre-paid for $40 worth of food/drink inside the event would mean lines will be even longer this year?

The bottle sharing will still be prevalent, it's ingrained in the DNA for all those attending and I plan on bringing a few bottles and a glass with me as well.

In terms of lines, I think the ticket system will speed things up. People will get beer at the rate it flows, rather than waiting for a cash exchange. I've seen many beer festivals with ticket systems and the lines do generally move fast.

There's a trading market for glassware? Just when you think this hobby can't get any stranger.

there are people who do that, for sure, but the thing is....there is still bottle sharing that happens inside the event as well. It's all a lot of fun.

The pre-DLD email from Dark Matter said they were only offering the gold/purple snifters at DLD... but they had a bunch of leftovers after. I think that's what prompted the rush for glass whalez.

I remember being in the glass line, soaking wet, and them taking the limit off everything. I should have knew then they would have a shit ton leftover….. #lessonlearned

I was probably the second or third person in that line...so for me it was super speedy. But I think the weather probably impacted their sales a little bit.

who are you kidding... you'll do the same exact thing this year once you get in the gates. All common sense is out the window :stuck_out_tongue:

I was in pretty early for the goddamn pimp cup. Felt pretty salty that it ended up online afterwards.

That said, Pimm's Cups do taste better in that glass.

Sharing happens inside and out all day long. And no.

Count another someone who looks forward to the share as much as the Dark Lord. It's really beer geek heaven for a day.

The steps they've taken over the years to streamline the process and deal with an overwhelming demand has been nice to see. About the only thing people could complain about is the baked in cost of drink/food tickets, but even that is pretty petty.

And once again, let's hope for some good weather to top it all off.

I didn't know sharing was allowed inside the event too...for some reason I didn't think you could bring in your own bottles to the event. That had me wondering how people deal with their own bottles, etc. if they aren't allowed to bring them inside the event, but I guess that clears it up.
