The Dollar Store by me has sleeves of small Solo cups. Maybe 3-4oz? I plan on bringing for shares and/or verts.

Last year I brought a stainless steal pint glass from the brewery I work at. Totally didn't realize that it's actually 20 ounces, I had some pretty big pours that day!

No!!! you'll lose it for sure, lol. Not worth the chance. I borught an awesome Sili-Pint I had from a Mountain bike race I did cause I figure hey, it's Silicone it's durable and easy to transport. Ended up setting it down somewhere along the way amidst the chaos and been pissed ever sice cause it was one of those commemorative thing I can't replace. So my two cents is avoid bringing anything expensive or important to you.

Yes, you were able to do that in years past at least.

I just brought a camel back and filled it up in the car throughout the day, saved me. I also picked up plastic glassware at the dollar store, but those solo cups work as well. No reason to bring a glass. The shares blew my mind last year, especially waiting in line. In fact I got mad when the bottle line moved too quickly, lol.

I don't think they publish anything like that as far as guest taps before the event. Last year I missed out on most of them, too busy sharing in the tents.

... I hope those wings are back, freaking awesome!!!!

They do not publish a tap list, or even a brewery list before, during or after the event. Its always a surprise who will be there and what they are bringing (and when specific beers are tapped).

If you check out the Dark Lord Day History thread you can see a list of verified taps in the past.

If you go there looking for a specific beer, you'll leave disappointed, and miss the point of the whole day. Dark Lord Day is like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get.

There are multiple stations serving multiple different beers (3 Floyds and/or guest) all over the grounds, and you never know what's on where. There's no schedule. So, my advice is just to drift like flotsam on the ocean, and enjoy what beers you find as you float.

This is about as perfect of a viewpoint one can have. Every time you go to a tent you will be surprised by one or more great beers that aren't whale status. Coming across a CC Cucumber saison or Port Grapfruit Puncher is just as exciting as the next barrel aged vanilla, nutter, anise stout.

Happy Dark Lord tickets day everyone!

I am sad to say I will not be attending this year due to a wedding in the family.... which means I am giving up my two tickets so all of you guys have two more chances to snag them!

If anyone wants to send me free beer for being an awesome BA and affording everyone an extra chance to get a ticket, and/or for bitter consolation that I'm not attending, PM me!

Either way, I will be with you in spirit at DLD.

Cheers to all you lucky folks who will be getting tickets today!

Yeah. Last year I saw some folks bagging on the guest taps, but every time I approached the line, I wished I had more hands. I had trouble figuring out what I wanted, there were so many good choices. I just went for stuff I'd never had. I passed up Abyss for HF Edward, and had a bunch of great beers that I might not get a chance to drink again anytime soon.

Regardless of the tickets change I still want to go. I've gone the last 2 years rain and shine and had a blast. This year will be a bit different as I'll be 6 months pregnant, so I won't be able to partake in the bottle shares or tap list. I, by default, get to by the DD...which score one for my guest :stuck_out_tongue:. Plus it will by default allow me to age my beers since I won't be able to drink them for quite some time. And hey...$40 in food vouchers is $40 in food. And in my current state, I won't be saying no to that!

Not sure if this changed this year but in the past you can get into the festival at any time. The letter on your ticket just determined when you can go pick up your bottles.

I understand that you can only order 2 tickets at a time, but can multiple sets of tickets be ordered from the same credit card and mailing address with different names on the tickets?

    Well it's game day.

Does anyone think the new price will decrease the demand for tickets at all?

    I wish!

I think it will be a feeding frenzy at noon, just like any other year. Just may see fewer couples. A few of my friends dropped out of trying to get tickets because they didn't want to pay a $200 ticket for their wives who don't even really like beer, but just wanted to attend for festivities. $40 + other expenses was reasonable in years past. $200 for a beer that they don't even like... not so much.

I wonder if that was part of the incentive to move to this pricing model, to get those people not interested in the beer out of the equation.
