Can't divulge all details but there are a lot of popular hops in this one, plus one experimental that is featured in the DH. That berry note will lead you to one certain newish hop. Future revolutions will be completely different mixes.

Maybe a pipe dream but I'd love to see two single hop beers in a 6er (say half one, half another). This would educate purchasers on the differ flavors different hops bring, plus they could put a poll on their website for people to vote for which they prefer. Would definitely add another level of "experimental" to this project.

As much as I dislike Sam Adams they did this awhile back with a deconstructed latitude 48. Really cool to taste the different single hops. Maybe they'll do it again someday and I'll buy their product nudge nudge. I really liked the hallertau mittefrueh single hop

Glad you mentioned this (even though you ironically prefaced it by saying you don't like Sam Adams; seems to be quite a popular opinion on BA these days)

BBC re-released (the original came back in 2009ish, IIRC) the Latitude 48 deconstructed single hop 12 pack just a couple years ago when they added Mosaic to the mix. One of my favorite packaged 12 packs in all of beer, IMO especially when you consider the price and ease of access. I loved the malt base they use. Wish they would do this every year, perhaps as a Rebel offering or something? I was thrilled they brought it back regardless

Anyway, back to the original subject. Just purchased a 6 pack of 12oz cans for $9.49 at Total Wine in Tucson. Light malt base, much like Easy Jack but much heavier on the hops. Lots of citrus and fruit. Very nice beer, pretty excited to see the future iterations

I live in Buffalo NY and bought a 6 pack last Saturday that was only 12 days old. It was delicious. I have a problem with bitter IPAs that tend to come from out west. This was nothing like that. A very well crafted IPA that was a pleasure to drink so incredibly fresh. Wonderful. AAA+:slight_smile::slight_smile::slight_smile::slight_smile:

I picked up a 6 pack of this today (along with a 6 of Union Jack). First time that I've seen fresh FW here in quite a while. Can't wait to try it later tonight!

    What did you think?

Personally I enjoy fresh Union Jack over Luponious (this version at least; could certainly change going forward) but it really depends on what you're looking for in an IPA I guess

I'm four hours from the brewery and I have not seen this anywhere. I'd drink a lot more Union Jack and Double Jack if I could find it fresher, it's usually two months or older when I see it on the shelves around my area.

Just got 6 day old in the East Bay....delicious! If you like Hop Hunter, you'll like this. Kinda reminded me of Modern Times "City of the Sun" in a way.

It finally showed up on Beermenus in the Santa Cruz area. I'm heading out to pick up 2 sixers in a few minutes. FW put Californians' love for their beer through a test the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping for Redemption.

Its a good beer, don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed it--a winner for sure. On a regular basis, I would be hard pressed to choose this over a 6 pack of Union Jack or 4 pack of Double Jack at the same price point.

It reminded me of Modern Times "City of the Sun;" except cleaner and dryer. "City of the Sun" was Mosaic, Motueka, and Simcoe. I'd guess the first 2 at the very least. Don't really get the Simcoe. Its not really complex, but definitely tastes like a FW beer.

Drinking it right now and I like it. I don't know if it would replace any of my "go to" IPAs, which includes UJ, but I think it's very good. It's definitely something that I would buy again, especially if I were looking for something a bit lighter and I'm not a fan of "session" IPAs.
