Singlecut brews some really tasty ipa's, their latest run of Fullstack was mighty impressive, but they've flown under the radar/overshadowed with all the hype Other Half ipa's bring (rightly so but you get the point). If Singlecut were elsewhere in the country you'd be seeing a lot of ISO Singlecut.

I think they've got a great lineup of IPAs and I really enjoy them. Maybe one of the reasons there has been less hype/celebration is it seems like they do a little less to create a culture/following around their beers as compared to Other Half / Grimm. Also, I think since you can generally find their beers relatively easily, you don't see many ISOs.

When Singlecut started out, they had a heavy focus on lagers. Like MANY breweries, they started putting out more and more IPAs and their buzz went up accordingly. Likewise, back when Grimm seemed to be much more interested in making Belgian inspired beer than IPAs, their bottles didn't move. Singlecut's attention has also grown in coordination with their bottling and growth into neighboring states. Many mention that their buzz would be much higher if they canned instead. There's probably some truth in the statement, but if so, the consumer logic is ridiculous (sorry guys). The price turns some off. Their bottles have the appearance of 22s, but they aren't. If you look at the WBAYDN threads, you'll find plenty of posts from people in NY drinking their beer. As far as the cowbell reference, they name their beers after rock 'n roll references. I agree that their scores on BeerAdvocate would make one think that they'd be discussed here more often.

I second this. BonBon and HB of Lead are two of my favorites from Singlecut.

They make some phenomenal IPAs that are on par with Grimm IMO. Mo Shuggie was a big WOW beer for me. It's really the pricepoint and the hard-to-read bottling dates that keep me from buying them off the shelf on the regular.

Everything I've had from Singlecut has been fantastic. Their Bon TNT Pale Ale is absoutely amazing at 5% ABV. Bursting with hop aroma and flavor.

I'm guessing you mean expensive by "price point is a little but off", but if you're comparing Singlecut with those other beers, do you expect it to be cheap?

I know about Singlecut and I don’t even live in America. You just haven’t been paying attention.

Had my 1st Single Cut in December, Bon Bon 2X TNT IIPA.
Local store promoted it in their e-mail which prompted the purchase. Never heard of them, even though I read this site religiously. After drinking and reviewing I wondered "Why am I just hearing about Single Cut now?". This thread caught my eye.

SingleCut is putting out some really good beers. It doesn't matter when you hear; it matters that you listened. Enjoy their beers, because they're really producing some good stuff.

Note cheap, but equal price. Here are prices I've paid at the same shop:

2X, DARL, Full Stack = $6.99 (I think 1/2 Stack was also this price)
    18-Watt = $5.99
    Cloudbursting = $4.75
    Barrier (various) = $4 - $7
    Void of Light = $4.75

To me they seam $1-$2 more than others.

Any of you native New Yorkers know if bon bon tnt is currently available? It says "rotating" for availability

Where are you getting these prices? Compared to where I used to live [Putnam County] these seem $1 - $2 less than what I was paying.

    Half Time in Poughkeepsie.

The Singlecut prices seam fairly universal around the Hudson Valley. I haven't really seen the others around to be able to compare.

Good store Half Time. I was referring to DeCicco's in Brewster. And I now realize their prices always were a little higher across the board but to their credit, most of the IPAs and other beer that benefits from being refrigerated were refrigerated.

I've seen Does Anyone Remember Laughter? and Full-Stack in the past few weeks, but not Bon Bon -- but I believe that's what "rotating" means -- they go from IPA to IPA to IPA and only have one or two avaiable at any given time on shelves.

And another vote for Mo Shuggie as the best one of the IPA's.
