What if the variants are 12 oz bottles this year? Wouldn't that be something.

I was towards the back of group B and grabbed the BBA DL. The FFF staff I dealt with during that cluster @#*& said the vanilla was gone. I found out shortly thereafter it wasn't. :slight_frown:

I went later in session "B" last year and grabbed a BVDL. It all has to do with the number that are available, if they make 2500 Vanillas, 2000 Bourbon, 300 coffees (those were the most limited last year if I recall), etc...there may be some left and there may be some really cool versions, there are 10. Just because you want BVDL does not mean that I want one as well.

As long as I don't get stuck with The Earl I'm cool...

I hope so, this is first time we've secured a room here. Does anybody know if it's walkable to DLD or is the shuttle at hotel the way to go?

Yeah I'm not calling you or anyone else a liar, nor am i pissed at FFF. I was more than happy just to have won the scratch off.

Hampton Inn is walkable, but a long walk. In years past the hotel runs a shuttle - $5 or $10 per person, one way. You can call it later and they'll give you a location to meet close to FFF.

Bottle share has been in the lobby the past few years. Usually starts with a few people around 6 or 7 on Friday, and grows. I never made it to the end, but I've heard it gets sloppy.

Yeah no worries man. I wish there were some science to it, but all of the volunteers that give out the beer never seem to be on the same page. My thoughts are that they will evenly distribute the variants among each group, but who knows honestly. Either way, it's the best festival of the year and I can't wait for this year!!!

Anyone ever tried this backpack cooler? http://www.icemulecooler.com/icemule-pro-cooler-large-20l/

I'm thinking about getting one for DLD. I like that it can be used as a cooler and a drybag. Also, there is an air valve which allows for insulation layer air removal so the cooler can roll up for storage in its stuff sack.

I walked it for the 15th Anniversary Party and it's doable, takes about 20-30 mins. Probably not a good idea if you're carrying more than just a cpl bottles for line shares. You'd probably be better off just taking the hotel shuttle.

I have made the walk a couple times, after the event, because waiting for the shuttle is always a mess. Going there your best bet is the shuttle though.

I may have missed it but was there something posted that we will be able to choose the variant we want? I just assumed they will have everything boxed up and hand them out. The lines would go fast and should make things a lot easier.

they mentioned FCFS and also said something about "you might not get your first choice". So I think people will be able to choose. I think it would be great to have it all pre-packaged and just give them all out at random.

I would agree with that. It should be considered that the time being saved in not having money transactions will just be taken up by people wanting to know what is still available and trying to make their decision based off of that. A prepackaged mystery box would eliminate that whole problem.

Anyone good with this kind of thing going to start a trade sheet? I saw one last year, but fear I would mess it up. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn on Fri and Sat and am down for trading/sharing. Also, has there historically been a sheet that shows what people are bringing to hotel shares? I never stayed down there before and it would be cool to see what the people staying at the Hampton are willing to share on Friday night.

there's going to be butt hurt regardless....i think there's less overall butthurt with a mystery box....it keeps things very equal and random...everyone has the same shot at every variant.
