    Alaska has a well-known, and regarded, college-level, summer league: http://www.alaskabaseballleague.org/view/alaskabaseballleague . A bunch of future major leaguers have played in it, including Tom Seaver. They have a "midnight sun" game every year, that starts at midnight.

    I'll be shipping to my target on the earlier end of the timeframe since I've got a lot of fresh hops for them. There will be some heavier/sour stuff to review in April too, so no worries. So, if you were meaning to update your wants get to it!

    Yep, and an impressive list of alumni - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alaska_Baseball_League - but not a professional league, so I wouldn't count them as a minor league, myself. Just a question of semantics.

    Oh, clearly not, but they're similar in talent level to the famous Cape Cod League (East Coast elite media bias not withstanding), and our own West Coast League, which has teams in such beery locales as Bend, Bellingham, Victoria, Yakima, Corvallis, and Walla Walla: http://westcoastleague.com/ .

    And yes, the actual Minor Leagues are professional, even King Felix once pitched for the Everett Aquasox.

    That had to have been one of the most financially disadvantaged professional sports franchise in America for travel costs alone! Even resorting to playing all their "road" games (should really be air games) in one stretch on the mainland would have been far more spendy and complicated than their rivals. No wonder they left Hawaii.

    I've always wondered why U of Hawaii doesn't attract better athletes to their sports programs. I mean, what college kid wouldn't want to spend 4 years in Hawaii, on scholarship? You're a high-school linebacker or point guard, and you choose Pullman over Honolulu?
