So I can expect vintages if I go Friday. That is what I wanted to know. Plan on getting their around 3ish.

Not true, made purchases plenty of times from their carryout on sundays.

Not entirely accurate. You can buy from breweries on Sunday.

I'll be there. But probably not bringing BVDL as people there will already have a shot at getting some. Saving the BVDL for a share where it is less likely people will have the chance for some or had it in the past. Planning on at least bringing BCBS though.

I would expect DL vintages to be long gone by 3PM. I might be wrong though.

I bought 2014 Dark Lord from the kiosk last year the Thursday before and the Sunday after DLD.

Brewpubs & restaurants are exempt from those laws. Liquor Stores and Grocery stores though, yes they can't sell alcohol on Sunday (and Christmas Day).

I'm a DLD rookie, got group B. We have a group of six going (all experienced beer boondoggle road trippers, but new to DLD) and I'm pretty pumped. My question is this:

Is there a map, satellite picture or something that shows how things are generally laid out for DLD? I've seen references to "north gate" "south gate", etc., but it's really not clear how it's set up, where you enter, where you get in line for your allotment or anything. I'd kinda like to have a clue before I go.

Here is last years map including satellite overlay. Once they release this year's map, I'll create another satellite overlay.

They usually post a map before the festival.

I'll be there Friday night. Last year didn't stay downstairs too late since we got up at like 3am to get to the festival grounds. From what I saw it was a mess though, lots of drunk people.

Exception exists for beer produced on site. You can buy from FFF on Sunday.

Anyone remember where Group A was supposed to line up last year? I wanna say South Gate but I dont remember. Never had Group A tickets before, a little curious as to if the shuttle leaving at 8:30 will even get there on time to not be last in the line.

I think i got there at about 9:30 last year and didnt get in till about 11:00AM

A is at North Gate, B through E are South. You will be fine, the line moves slow to get in the event. I plant to get there 9-9:30 for the group A line. Dark Lord Day is a marathon, don't try and sprint out the gates. Its about how you finish, full of greasy food on the verge of puking.

First time posting. I was able to get group E tickets. Anyone want to let me and my wife share a hotel room with you (in Munster)? We are driving down early Saturday morning, and I don't want to get a DUI leaving the business park. We are quiet, relatively young (30), I am not a dude-bro. I will of course split the fee, and we will really only be there to sleep after the festival is over. I unfortunately do not have any rare beers to bring to share, except a Westy12. I can bring other good beer, its just not rare (well, its rare in Nerbaska).

Agreed. I got there a little after 12pm last year. Waited in line for about 2 hours and got one of the last '14 BADLs left.
