@leatlambfries, I feel ya. Kane did a good job to have it only one bottle per person on any of the offerings but this along with two new releases and Hop Lab Triple IPA on draft, it was likely to be a very busy day at the brewery anyway. Hope it's not too nuts!

So much butt hurt on Facebook still regarding the DBA. This entitlement from grown men is just so.... lol

For the record, I waited until 3ish when stuff died down, walked in and had the new sour stout and biere de garge. Delicious!

Not to mention Nitro Holy Nights. Total chocolate milkshake! I usually don't love beer on a nitro lines, but it worked with Holy Nights in my opinion.

Was there on Saturday and overheard employee mention the construction of their own canning machine is underway in the space adjacent to the brewery

That's the best thing I've heard in a long time! Cans of Citra in my future.

Cans of Citra, Ripple, Head High, Overhead, Triple IPA...cant wait for it! If we thought Kane was popular already, canning these beers will really catapult them.

I'm happy by this but also perplexed. They can once, just once! Get a little negative feedback and never give canning another chance. So what do they do? Go get their own canning line. Now, I get they could have easily seen the cost of Iron Heart vs their own line over time. But not sure why they would not try again. It could also be the pressure of Carton canning more, Tired Hands, Other Half, etc. Just curious and I know its only been a few months.

Either way, looking forward to seeing more of their beers in cans. Hope they follow the Other Half/Tired Hands model and release quite often!

Forgot about Ripple! What a beer.

Iron Heart must be pretty busy nowadays. Many breweries canning every other week at this point and they're taking on new customers all the time (Magnify)

From what I understand from talking to a few guys at the brewery is that it has more to do with Mike Kane being controlling over his product. He was never really into the idea of having an outside company involved in his product and had to be somewhat talked into using Iron Heart. The minimal negative feedback kind of validated his concerns.

I dont think its a bad thing. They just want to have full control over every aspect of their business.

Ripple cans this summer would be the best thing ever.

or even Ripple back on tap for growler fills

I just love that beer so much :grinning:

Me too. I'm surprised they don't have it around all the time as a low ABV option.

ugh I wish they had it year round. I believe it has to do with hop contracts, the recipe was changed this past year to all Nelson hops.

When you think about the added cost, inconvenience of having to work around someone else's schedule and infection issue....who would blame Kane for not doing IH again?

Head High cans from the first run of our new canning line will be available at the brewery today. Install was completed earlier than anticipated so we were able to do our first small run this week. Once the rest of our new equipment and some complimentary pieces of the line are installed we hope to have Head High cans on a regular basis. $12 a four pack / one case limit.

Besides being phenomonal, $12 a 4 pack is very reasonable
