The one I went to last year (The Winchester maybe??) handed out tickets as you walked in the door and you only got one. This to me said it was pretty limited. It might have lasted an hour or two, but doubtful the following day.

Its most likely in the blending. They can blend some lower ABV barrels together.

Certainly could be two separate batches, but it could be from blending the barrels as well.

I'm always curious how breweries can keep the abv/ibu/gravity/etc of their beers (year round, annual, seasonal or otherwise) exactly the same and have it noted on their label as the same. We can taste the difference in some batches from others so there must be some standard deviation states allow for specs? I know a lot of these larger breweries have their batches down to a science but hardly anything can stay the same consistency batch after batch. My assumption (which I know is likely a false one) is that OH allows a +/-.5% abv so they simply edited that specific label for their bottles hitting distro. Maybe the equipment used to figure abv has a variance allowed and that gets by. This idea came up when I saw BCBS had a 13.7 & 14.3 last year.

Anyone that bought the new KBS glass think it looks crooked? I bought two of them and they both look to be crooked on the stem. Like a lean to the left if your looking at the side that says "KBS".

I've hit two up this week so far. Was able to get multiple pours both places but doubt it lasted until next day. Was definitely packed but fun. Mike and Dave were both there working the room which is cool.

People keep saying the tap list is lame but like....the only crazy thing on last year was CBS. One beer. Take away one beer and all of a sudden people are disappointed.

KBS is on tap all over GR this week and easily attainable. Go on Saturday, it will be busy and crowded, but you will be able to get in and drink all you want.

I enjoyed Zuper Hoppy, Sumatra Mountain, nitro Frangelic, and Reds Rye yesterday. All are fantastic beers and I left completely satisfied...even knowing that CBS was going on later in the day. Funny how those whales make people forget about all of the other awesome beer that's on tap there. I thought the tap list was loaded with great selections.

Guess my point is people driving from all over the Midwest to pick up KBS. Then you go in and see that most of what they have on is widely distributed and the one-offs just don't seem to jump off the page to me. Not even one. I'm sure others would disagree.

I have to agree. The tap list in 2014 was not great aside from panther cub. Last year was pretty amazing with CBS, nitro frangelic, big lush and azacca to name a few. I'll be flying in from NY again for my 3rd year. Always a great time though

last year: Nitro Frangelic, big lush, Azacca, CBS (etc.)= Pretty amazing
this year: nitro frangelic, Blushing Monk, Azacca, Backwoods Bastard, Sumatra Mtn. Brown (etc.)= Meh

Aside from CBS last year, there really wasn't much of a difference between last year and this year. I guess I'm in the minority here, but I managed to enjoy what I had yesterday quite a bit and had zero disappointment.
